Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Layoffs in Oriskany today

Not sure how many were impacted but know some in Global Payments were let go today all in favor of the needful. More good Americans now jobless because Robin Vince favors Pune scammers

@1mv they aren’t soliciting everyone with the relocate option. I’m not sure how they are picking and choosing the employees that get that offer. With that being said, all wfh Oriskany/E.Syracuse ppl will be done (either relocated or terminated) by the end of the year with the exception of a handful that will be kept until the end of Q1. And by handful I’m talking about 15-20 ppl for Q1.

Hello are people getting offers to relocate to lake mary or pitts?? Is all of oriskany getting let go?

@f3 that’s not the 30 day notice I’m talking about. I’m talking about the day they lay you off they give you an actual termination date that is 30 days later. So ppl laid off yesterday likely have a termination date of 9/24. They will get a paycheck on 8/29 and 9/15 and then a partial one on 9/30. Their benefits continue through the end of September.

@ez they havent given a 30 day notice per the NYS warn act. They didnt end of last year either when 60 from oriskany were released and they have too when it impacts like 25-30. You can look up notices on that website

@e5 with the 30 day notice technically this round is considered September. Next one should be around Thanksgiving.

@en the fact they own the oriskany site but are letting if sit empty for two years while bi--hing about people working from home tells you all you need to know about the sh---y senior mgmt they have in charge. Keep paying taxes for an empty building mo--ns cause their investor backed out before end of year and i hope it stays like that. They deserve to get sc--wed like they are doing to us

The forced RTO for all remote employees is just a 30% stealth layoff. The fact there is an office in my city, but they say it "doesn't count" is proof that this isn't about people being in office.

They don't want people to actually relocate and there is actually no way to fit all the people even if they did. They just don't want to pay severance or unemployment.

I’m assuming the next round will be September after this round

This company has turned into the biggest sh-t hole. They will get rid of employees in low cost areas who actually know the business and systems to keep mo--ns in high cost areas who rely on everyone else to tell them what to do. I hope it blows up in their face big time.

@bf nope I’m still there. But I’m sure I’ll be gone by the end of the year. Trust me, I can’t wait! There will be no bitterness on my end!

@b2 uhhh ok lol. Keep drinking the kool aid. I know of multiple ppl (myself included) that were asked to relocate from Syracuse/Oriskany. They don’t care about what predicament it will put them in. They want offices filled and no more WFH. Keep living in your fantasy land though.

@b2 unfortunately it is true. Teammates have already been offered the relocation option. All refused because why would anyone pack up and move their lives for this place? Only to be laid off in what? A year or 2 later? All of Oriskany will eventually be laid off. Thinking otherwise is pure delusion.

@ar not true. Stop spreading lies. And letting oriskany go will sc--w them royally cause who do you think hand holds NYC, india, PA and Florida plus many lther locations

@at they are trying to get them to move to Lake Mary and Pittsburgh.

@ar but where can they relocate to ? nearest office is NYC. that would be impossible because of salary and more expensive housing costs. they’d have to give severance if people refused.

@a7 yes and they have been sending the OFAC team to Pune. A BRICS nation. Who buys sanctioned Russian oil. India is not our friend. Unless you’re a J or above on that OFAC team then you are all in on the India virus. Everyone in the US who works OFAC should quit. I know some people over there and they’ve all packed it in. Leadership is absolutely toxic and has no clue how to run a team

@ad yes Oriskany and East Syracuse have been closed but they have slowly been letting go the wfh people since February. One more round will be before year end and then any remaining wfh that are not willing to relocate will be let go in Q1.

“As a company we are focused on ensuring that we have the right skills and talent across the organization so we can better serve our clients.” PUNE POUNDING A HOLE! If that were true you would t have let go good Americans in favor of absolutely useless wastes of XIDs. I despise these people

Robin and crew will also leverage all staff realignment actions to window dress the Q3 balance sheet, which is due out in about 6 weeks. In the words/ lyrics of Bob Seger "Feel Like A Number" .......

Like a tiny blade of grass In a great big field
