Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Stress

I am considering contacting a lawyer! The stress is becoming overwhelming! No clear answers! Promise to update UM/ utilization but no updates since August 4th! No answers from upper leadership! Every answer is more to come! Humana is causing mental strain! Supposed to make changes Sept 1 which is a holiday, so info is not correct! It will be Sept 2nd. What is going on? Who is doing this? Who is making the decisions?

@kd the description of the director is ON POINT! I'm so glad I found this page where people can post openly without fear of repercussions.

@OP @13w I was terminated!!…hi…yes definitely have been pushed around by a new manager who was badgering me and singling me out about every little thing until I wound up being put on a disciplinary action plan for something I shouldn’t have been…and my manager was digging for things….micromanaging to the core!!…I had been on a different managers team for 5 and 1/2 years prior to going to her team though without any issues other than not always consistently meeting my metrics but was managing as all the other care manager nurses were doing..btw that system was a joke and they were in the process finally of revamping the metrics due to the issues many HCMs had raised to management. I was blindsided even after being offered the ERP in my email while I was out on unpaid leave for two weeks after I had a house fire that destroyed the majority of my home…& I was displaced due to my home being uninhabitable & thankfully a coworker and good friend , told me about the ERP or I wouldn’t have known. They gave me a deadline until 08/04 to get an alternative office that was HIPPA compliant with internet as I had before , my fire was on 07/21. I was up and running on 08/04 after relocating to my family’s home and handling all of the fire devastation and was ready to work. My manager said that while I was out I missed my mid year review and it had to be done asap and scheduled it for 08/05…was kept busy with emails and educational/ethics or whatever CBTs she could throw my way so I didn’t have time to focus on accessing the ERP email and was going to accept on the next day 08/05…but was blindsided under the ruse of the mid year review and 1:1 early that morning 08/05… as soon as I logged on and was met by an HR person and my manager via teams chat call , who proceeded to terminate me and was made to log off immediately and then was unable to accept my ERP!!!…ridiculous!!!..what a waste of my time and effort there for 6 years with the exception of the benefits!!….Run don’t walk because Humana doesn’t care about you or your family nor their members/patients they serve ..it’s all about $$$$ that they can make from the employees selling CW pharmacy to people!!!…what a ridiculously shameful way to make people do your dirty work and calling it part of your metrics!!! Humana has become money hungry like every other corporate entity!! No caring for the member’s wellbeing at all and thankfully there are nurses like myself of 22 plus years that take care of the members who actually do give a cr-p about them and their wellbeing and healthcare needs!!! RUN!!!

This is such a stressful time for many of us. I don’t know about the legal aspect, but I do care about mental health. Perhaps tap into EAP for a couple of free sessions. Explore ways to draw on your support system. You are not alone.

@er Yes--leaders look directly at managers and say no cuts, no rifs, all is great. 2 months later complete your horrible form analyze staff you have to cut when you already short staffed and approaching reckless risky patient care. no one truly director or higher has any conscience and thsese are the people who get offered ERP. it is now a matter of who cracks first and good luck telling your staff with a straight face that they are safe too but keep that morale going high by all means.

@ep CW RN here and I know exactly what you're talking about. LPN's were assured they were safe and then they were laid off across the board. The managers and the directors knew full well and lied to everyones faces. Since then, no one has really felt or been safe. I was in a meeting where one of the directors (old one with big filters where her eyebrows disappear ha) smiled and lied when asked right before. This place is toxic AF.

PTSD ----- Q&A sessions with 100's of witnesses that LPN are safe but that was a Bold lie!!! that specific question was asked and answered!!!! With 100's witnesses

@ef no, unfortunately, they won't. They are untouchable until you find a way to touch them and sometimes that means through legal recourse.

You'll need to go through way more stress for going through the legal process. I want to be kind to myself by not pursuing this. These people will get their punishment they deserve someday!!

Hostile work environment and retaliation ARE reasons to hire an attorney. A manager I know hired an attorney for those reasons and was PAID off. Document everything!!!!!

@a6 600,000 Chinese students are going to be allowed into the country for college, Cr--ker Barrel is in full retreat and Meghan Markle has dished more dirt on the UK Royal family. I am not sure if the national media has the appetite for corporate shenanigans.

@OP - yeah the environment is hostile mixed with a bunch of chat gpt or stryder bs so emails don't look as bad as they really are lol. What a joke.

There is no legal case to sue Humana for stress. End of story.

I'm worried about you. Sincerely. No job is worth this level of stress. If you can't afford to talk to someone, at least use the EAP resources. No I'm not HR or promoting the sh-t we deal with. Nor saying it's ok. Just saying please talk to someone.
