Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

I don't think the damage here can be fixed

At this point, I'm convinced the damage done to this company is irreversible. The problems are so deep and systemic now that even the most talented leadership team wouldn't be able to turn things around. We're past the point of a simple strategic shift or new vision. When the foundation is this broken, the whole structure is doomed. I'm not sure there's any coming back.

@OP current management is not fit for a fix and are afraid of the chairman as they were of mark and will march forward to any order. they will also go on the cheap for a CEO. At best the facade will continue.

@dz all existing ELT and SVPs should be let go to get rid of the old culture. Otherwise they are just looking out for themselves and with run the company into the ground while they give themselves raises and stock to fill their coffers.

OTEX is clearly circling the drain.

They still have horrific management and amazingly nasty "leadership". They still treat employees poorly because they want them to quit without layoffs. Nothing has changed since MB left. He was a symptom, not the root problem.

The real problem is the board of directors that installed this nasty crew and allowed them to run amok.

They have only 1 trick, drive as many as possible to quit, and replace them with the cheapest they can find. This will improve the numbers temporarily, but the zombie products will die as innovation ceases, and instability increases because the cheap labour breaks more than it fixes.

It's a software company that doesn't even use its own software...

The foundation isn't just bad, it's a pile of rubble gathered from the discarded remains of other companies acquired by the former behemoth CEO that were brutally dismantled and had their maintenance contracts added to the sale systems.

This company is an absolute mess, and the sooner you recognize that, the better it is for you. If you have the chance to leave, do it as soon as you can. The leadership shows no real vision, and it’s obvious more layoffs are coming. Middle and upper management continue to collect generous paychecks while the rest of the workforce is treated like disposable labor. It’s a deeply broken system, and employees deserve far better.
