Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

I wish I wasn't this stressed about my job

But I'm in a tough spot right now, and getting laid off would be devastating. I can't even think about looking elsewhere because life has been throwing one thing after another at me for months. The constant worry about work just makes everything worse. I'd love for things to be different, but they're not. I'm just hoping no big cuts happen until I get my head above water.

@bf trust me, you want to work somewhere else. The grass is greener on the other side.

It is always better to look for a job while you still have one. Do not wait to get laid off!
If you do get cut though, it's really not that bad. I found a new job within 4 months and I'm making $20K more than at Walgreens!!! Walgreens paid like cr-p there and it was such a miserable, toxic environment.
Please start looking for other options now. You may be pleasantly surprised!

@z4 Yet some many still stay at Walgreens. Why put yourself through that cr-p for a job? Is that all they can get for a job, obviously. They won't leave unless they are cut/let go. Pretty sad. And for the ones in the store, they get paid nothing. Store managers get bonus' yet they still complain daily about will they get something for a bonus this year.....at least they get something. Workers in the stores make nothing, get nothing. What a career, what a future.

I was laid off in February. I got the full package even though they have there wording warn act is included in the max payout. It was not deducted. So yeah I am ok. Walgreens was toxic horrible place.

@dp I don't wish job loss on anyone but I would be thrilled to get laid off from this cr-p company if they would pay me severence. I work from home and stay employed because I'm unsure about starting retirement. If Walgreens lets me go, the decision is made for me. Pathetic, I know.

Why do people stress out when they choose to stay in the rotten position most at Walgreens are in. We all have choices, some say no they don't but you always have choices. To stay with Walgreens is a choice.... many have woken up to and moved on. If a job is needed then I guess you stay. There are so many better jobs than Walgreens. For the ones that say I don't want to work anywhere else...good luck.

  1. Prepare. 2. Resume, 3. LinkedIn refresh, 4. keep quiet.
