These a--holes have the audacity to force people to wfh full time and are now asking if you will relocate so when you say no they can fire you

@ja, no they didn't. People keep claiming that but there is no record of it anywhere.
@m3 exactly. Ive heard from some they stooped this low
You will still be terminated after you move at your own expense.
@jb maybe my low cost Oriskany location had none of that. Maybe you should stop assuming cause unlike your PA location we dont have to pay to park, we dont cry because we have to drive into the city and we dont have to ask Oriskany team for answers to do our job all the time. Clown
@g5 maybe your “low cost location” (we all know it was Oriskany) had zero growth opportunities, high taxes and constant HR issues.
@dq they received government money not to let people go FOR A FIXED TIME. That ship sailed a long time ago. Quit complaining and either get with the program or not. The choice is yours.
@f3 then they better hope the viewed the laws in each employee location because Ny is very specific on being protected while out and i know someone on my team on approved fmla from maternity and they marked her below
@f3 you cannot be terminated for an illegal reason. Terminating someone after a claim of disability is a good way for the firm to have to pay out lots of money. And rating someone as “does not meet expectations” will look as retaliatory. The firm may terminate, but then you’re getting a big payday.
@dp gratitude? My low cost location was closed two years ago for no real reason. It sits empty 2 years later while we are getting terminated for wfh that they forced us to do. Now they ask to relocate as an excuses to terminate cause they dont want people wfh. Please make it make sense. Gratitude would be them fu--ing all the way off and crawling back into the hole they came from
This evil is like nothing we have ever had before.
@e9 No one is legally protected from being laid off. They will figure out a way to say you’re not meeting expectations and let you go regardless of being disabled.
@es
Pay no attention to @dp. He is not even a heartless corporate mo--n. Not at all. He is an old, jealous, needy, hate filled wretch who gets his jollies being on this board posting his half digested manure. He is a failure in life and was kicked out of BNY for the same. So don’t waste any ammo on him. It’s how he gets his jollies. Do what his family does- ignore him entirely.
@dp spoken like a true inconsiderate heartless corporate mo--n. Don’t forget to #lifeatbny on your LinkedIn today
If you’re being asked to RTO or relocate at for point you are being targeted for termination. Returning to an office or relocating is not saving your job. It MAY prolong it for a very short period of time.
Also for those on medical WFH, DO NOT RTO under any . Your status as disabled gets eliminated as soon as you return and so do legal protections.
When Covid struck they didn’t have to let you work from home; they could have just laid you off. Maybe a little gratitude should be considered. As for relocating; do it or don’t, your skills are replaceable.
@b9 there are definitely no facilities close and the one we had is empty but owned by them still while they do this to us. The next nearest location is atleast 5 plus hours away
Look at your state laws. There usually is something about how far an employer can force you to move. If it’s in there see a lawyer.
Anyone relocating for this jack ar.se run company is a total loser of life. It is shameful enough to swallow your pride to work here. But to be willing to chase this place somewhere it wants you to go and have your pay moving costs on your own? You would deserve everything you get…
