@nd or if you don’t meet the minimum requirements after your workload is 10X’d. Get off your high horse. You’ll be humbled soon.

Haha... union members basically cannot be fired unless they really fck up and we know just how little of work we can get away with. Yeah the bootlicking managers can easily be fired so too bad for them.

What about union employee being fired for cause? Still get 2 years severance? Is this the legal loophole?

The management jealous envy on this board for Legacy ‘s union contract 2 year severance benefit is delicious! Management gets up to 6 lousy months on a 2 week notice, which the buzz around the board looks like it’s coming down hard and swift next month for management but here they are bootlicking their way out the door. Misery loves company and management on this board is as deservedly as miserable as it gets! Enjoy next month! :)

@ck good luck with that! You’re gonna be waiting a looooooong time. Hope you have 25+ more years to wait. Those union dues are expensive and you’re not getting them back.

@c3 call me the day you get that offer. It’ll NEVER happen. Just because it’s in your contract doesn’t mean they are going to layoff and pay out. You’ll be fired for cause or worked so hard you have no choice but to retire before you ever see a dollar. You do know what company you’re talking about, right? Wake up.

Right, there will be no "package" or "severance" for Leg T union workers because that language does not exist in the labor agreement (contract). Those two words are for managers (bootlickers). Union workers in this contract are entitled to termination pay, whether it's voluntary (VTP) or Involuntary (such as an office closing). The pay is the same either way, up to 104 weeks pay depending on the years of service. For example, those with over 31 years get 104 weeks pay). When a surplus is announced, VTP happens before workers are laid off Involuntarily and usually there's plenty willing to go. This happens regularly and it most likely will until we're all gone.

2 years severance is a great contractual non management union perk!

There is no package and you will get nothing. Have you been listening?

I think the question is. If VTP is available for surplus, will there be VTP if fired/terminated?
Surplus and termination are 2 different scenarios.
Is this a legal loophole to avoid VTP?

VTP is specific language in only the Leg T CWA contract. Termination pay is the same amount up to 104 weeks pay for workers in this contract who leave the company via VTP or due to office closing.
