Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I am very stressful and kind of depressed since the 8 hours rule is enforced

I usually go home around 2pm to avoid traffic and continue working between 2:30 to 6:30. Now I have to stay until 5pm and feel stressed out due to the heavy traffic. Since I stayed until 5pm, no more work at home.

My working hour is less than before after the 8 hours rule is enforced.

@b3 if you were laid off already by Wells what are you still doing trolling this page? Get over it and move on. Your services are no longer needed.

WF has about 80,000 less people in office than we did in 2011. Our profits and stock price are both up. The inescapable conclusion is that housing fewer employees is better for the company. So, why are we going to offices again?

Before COVID I was WFH and saved the company a fortune doing it. Go back to the 90s or something.

@cw It’s mot just millennials , anyone who was around during COVID have forgotten what they did before WFH came about to keep things moving.

@dc prepare to be called a bootlicker for actually showing up to your job. When WF employees are crying about how unfair life is they are name calling anyone who doesn't share their need to be coddled.

I get at work at 730 and leave by 4. I know people who get in the office by 630 and leave at 3 🤷‍♀️

I commuted 48 miles to work. Started my day at 4am, did my full 8, beat traffic. I have kids as well. Be thankful you still have a job.

I've been on 4 different teams in 10 years at WF and worked in 3 different buildings. I've always been one of the ONLY people still at the office after 4:30. People have been fudging early morning "work" hours at home for years and I think it's funny they now actually have to be at work for 8 hours (even though I think the rule is d-mb).

I miss going to yoga class during the day to break up the monotony and to clear my head. I also miss going out for lattes with Pam and Jan.

OMG, these millennials. They do not have the work ethic. It is all about work-life balance for them. It is sad, but things are getting worse, not better. This is a big problem for future employers, unless jobs are completely replaced by AI. There is no point in arguing with them here......

I love that you openly own your insecurity buy using the word 'bootlicker'.

Your lack of success is everyone else's fault, isn't it?

No not @b5. LOL

Just remember that getting up and coming to work every day (like pretty much anyone else who has ever worked a real job) makes you a bootlicker to the same WF crowd who would get on their knees without hesitation if it meant they could wfh and play with themselves all day.

Fantastic insight but no. I wholeheartedly reject your simplistic worldview. I guess you'll be left to impotently whine on the board again.

Poor little bootlicker. I almost felt sympathetic towards you, but then I remembered how utterly dimwitted you are.

Perhaps, if one were so inclined, one could introduce a few items from this government sponsored guidebook

I guess you were always WFH? Pre Covid, we were all working 8-5 including leaving at 7 am and not getting home until 6 pm. I know it su-ks, but see what your options are. Deal with it or leave and control what you can control.

You are now an hourly employee, clocking in, working for the man.

If there are ways to game it I can’t figure out what they are.

A lot of you people are flat out je-ks. Why don’t you spend your time on FaceBook where that attitude is appreciated.

On this issue, go to Teamworks and look for workplace accommodations, try to build a case for at least a partial day at home. It 99.9% won’t work, but maybe if enough people do it, one will fall thru the cracks. Stress is real, they’ll probably offer noise cancelling headphones or something else stupid - but there’s your path

@b4 oh trust me, I've been applying to plenty of jobs. Also, my maintaining employment with WF had nothing to do with my work or work ethic, it was all about my location.

I see many people coming in at 7 and leaving at 3. Some locations don’t allow you to come in early (Chandler). If you want and need the job at WF you’ll need to find a way to make in-office work.

The older employees, who tend to be targeted first for layoff, seem to have no problem working the full 8 hours until 5 pm. There was a time when we didn’t have laptops and there was no such thing as wfh. You may want to look for another, more flexible job or get something part time. So many already laid off would love to take your place and stay 8 hours without complaint. WF isn’t going to change anytime soon, they don’t care that you are stressed and they want people in seats 8+ hours.

So true. I practically ran from the parking lot to make sure I hit my 8 hours in the office. First thing every morning is plugging in my laptop, even before the restroom or coffee.

Too bad that maintaining your employment wasn't as simple as you make this out to be.

Don't you have some job applications to fill out? Better get busy, it's going to be a long haul for you.
