Thread regarding Omnissa layoffs

Is it true that KKR is selling-off Omnissa?

Is it true that KKR is working on a deal to sell Omnissa? If so, who do you think the buyer will be? Does anybody know? Any hints?

@he not a chance Hock has regrets selling off EUC and the declining revenue would only strengthen that position. EUC first even got into his strategy. Not a chance Broadcom is in the mix

@he
That's rubbish. Everyone knows ht is incapable of regret due to his oversized ego and narcissism. Besides, you also need a soul to even understand the concept of regret.

Maybe Mikey Dell will buy on the cheap, seeing he just gave away 6.5B, he has the cash. He lays off most of the sales and marketing, keeps a few SE's, and then his knuckel-dragging sales team hocks what's left. Dell did have a VDI offering before they bought EMC/VMware in Quest’s vWorkspace, but sold it because of conflict with Horizon. Dell is another elephant graveyard where technology goes to die.

I heard Hock’s had some serious regrets, so very interested in buying Omnissa.

@d7 It's just like any other sales job. Leadership is basically earning their commission for closing the deal. If they can do it, then in my eyes, they earned that money.

A certain "global leader" who is no longer with Omnissa did mention this to a colleague in the team. In his words there was to be a series of layoffs before they flip it to the buyer which had been part of the plan since the beginning.

You can imagine the type of payout that the top leadership is going to get once this is completed. The same type of payout that was given to the VMware leadership when they sold to Broadcom. At the end of the day, the employees are seen like cattle... while the head of the ranch get paid after the sale.

@ad The Citrix and Omnissa customer base is declining as Microsoft continues to gain share. This ends badly, one way or another. How does KKR come out of this without a financial loss?

Private equity trying to make a return on their investment shocker.

@ad I agree this would be a logical outcome. It’s one I have thought about for a long time.
