One of the EVP is very close to me and mentioned that they plan to move the entire BDR functionality to India. There are over 200 BDRs in the states and Canada. Wonder what will happen to them.

There will be an 80% decrease in business development when it all moves to India. The trust in these roles comes from them originating in Canada and the States. All trust is gone when India comes into the picture.
If you're in sales and being supported by a BDR team in India, take my advice, and get out now!!
@gv then yeah tbh - I expect them to have that group basically make themselves redundant to some extent. Short term gains from salary difference to longterm with optimization goals.
Most AI job removal for now is junior work after all. And the main AEs get the actual commission be it a carved territory/product or not. I can see them eventually cutting BDRs for expanding entry/junior AE responsibility if it fails. That if accurate would be layoffs. Again.
But I think most people anticipate those continue for the next couple quarters. Just varies on place and whom.
This is how the BDR team works ….. nothing except creating a SFDC opp then hassling to move it to stage 1
@cp they usually build the pipeline
But inside sales/cold call AEs are a thing here.
Great now we gotta find a job description lol
@cj BDR= Business Development Representative, I am not sure if this is Sales or Marketing
What’s a BDR?
Another one bites the dust!
@OP honestly I can see it.
I'm not sure if our BDRs are commission or salary - but OT would likely be saving money either way. Unless the leads turn up that bad.
