What on earth are EM Corp thinking; who has sold them on the fact that BTC can operate anything with their low cost but low quality support model

Not just Canadian expats. Repatriations underway, no French expats were safe from the affiliate sale. Brits repatriated. XOM regression from a global oilco into an American oilco with limited strategic assets outside of the US.
expats are always viewed initially as growth to then bring back to the affiliate. If there’s no long term play for the affiliate then there’s no value in expatting from that affiliate. Speaks volumes for the long term affiliate view.

Just shows that our leadership have no idea, just don’t care or too focused on feathering their nest. We are way too functionalized with the EPOs looking after themselves and all the experience walking out of the door with their replacements being totally imcompent. I hope the investment companies review this site as their investment will erode in the next 3-5years

Not surprising after the Australia announcements. Soon XOM will be technically managed by a wholly incompetent BTC office who can't do anything brownfield, whilst management in Houston focuses entirely on financial engineering until we become the next GE or Boeing.

@cn hopefully a special dividend to the shareholders. I don’t trust management because they will probably waste it on stupid dry holes in Brazil again.

Can we send the Canadian expats back then so that they can be sold with the asset?

Near is about to go. Question is what are they planning to buy with the cash?

Guyana will be just fine without Canadians. We have BTC now and SBM is doing all the work anyway. We are basically a bank at this point.
