@e4 most people i know aren't "trying to find a way around it". They're genuinely working the hours in the office that fit their role, responsibilities, and personal lives.
People's kids get sick and they have to leave early. People have appointments, or pets that need let out. Some folks have an hour plus commute. If you've got kid pickup and drop-off those times have to be taken into account. Those i know with kids don't get in until about 9 (or later because of life and weather) and they've gotta bolt anywhere between 2-3 to pick up. If there's a longer commute their time in-office will be super short and borderline pointless. People with dogs that need let out face the same conundrum.
It comes down to minding your own business, minding your own work, and letting your office colleagues do what fits their lives best. Yes, there are people who coffee badge. But the vast majority do their best to just comply and not make waves. In the end this isn't about collaboration it's about control.
