Thread regarding Optum layoffs

No longer.

I don’t care that the workload has gotten so heavy I can’t get it done. I’m no longer skipping a midday break and no longer working long hours. I’m done. Working through lunches and working 2-3 hours extra a night is not doing any dents in any of the work anyways. All it’s doing is stressing me out, making me bitter with my life and family. And at the end of the day, this just isn’t worth it. I will get another job if I get laid off. This isn’t the end. I just realized this tonight and I’m letting all this burden they placed on me go. I can only be responsible for what I’m capable of doing. And so are you. Nothing more. Work your 8 hours and leave for the day. Let it go.

As you shouldn’t. After last years sh-t show with no raises, premium increases, and a pittance if a bonus I told my manager I’m done. Mind you Andrew Witty, a complete du-----k of a CEO, received a 12% raise the year prior. I said if they’re going to treat us like dogshit they’ll get dogshit in return. My manager agreed and to date I haven’t worked a minute over 40 hours. I could probably count on one hand the number of weeks I actually “worked” over 35 hours. I’m hoping to get laid off after 18 years of my life here. These last 3 years have by far been the worst.

@c8 don’t worry I did. I damn near broke my back when I was younger. You don’t know me, won’t ever know me, your opinion is yours and yours only. It doesn’t make my reality different. And you can’t do a dam thing to affect me.

You should have done more minimum wage manual labor as a youngster - this is a cake walk.

Another gripe. Nothing to do with layoffs. Keep moving toots

Agreed, give an inch and they take a mile, with nothing in return other than negative feedback with no raises or rrp bonuses. I worked on call working up to 80 hours a week for 15 years, one day I actually worked 24 hours straight all on salary with no extra pay, this company should be fined for their blatant disrespect and overwork of employees.

Absolutely! I'm glad we share the same perspective. I find it amusing how we receive emails suggesting we hire hourly workers to cover our lunches for overtime. Isn’t that against the law? Cheers to navigating this together, and here’s to the holidays!
