Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Is therapy a common thing now?

Just wondering if I'm the only one who started therapy recently because of this job. Almost all of my stress is from work. I was even thinking about medication because of it.

@e9 it's because it's infested with clowns like OP. Be the change to bring it back to what it was. Health insurance isn't perfect but it's the system we are in and people need it. Cigna at one point was one of the better ones, but now it's infested with people like OP and people from worse healthcare companies like UHC, Davita, etc.

@c2 agreed but I wouldn’t consider working at Cigna as healthcare. If anything, it’s anti-healthcare

I was in therapy for my first 6 years at Cigna, as well as medication (lexapro) for a while. There is nothing to be ashamed of; it says something terrible about the system we live/ work in, but never you. Just like if you were in a terrible marriage and you needed therapy and medication to cope, I would say maybe it's time to leave or at least reach out and plan your next steps. I hate that workers are forced to live through this-- it's not good for anyone in the long term.

@bg You should leave healthcare. Disgusting that you work in it.

@b2 Maybe because this person is brilliant at their job but has too many haters at work? Why should they leave?

Maybe you all are not cut out for this type of work. Rethink what you can handle. Uber eats or door dash are always hiring. So sad….

@a9
Why would you want to return to a job that drove you to take disability?

Yes without a doubt. It's only going to get worse if you are still standing.

Yes. Even went out on disability and they “voluntarily” terminated me for not being able to work when they wanted. No empathy for any of the botched management.
Take care of you first and foremost, they do not care about your personal wellbeing.
