Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

jobs after 60 days

Has anyone been rehired after the 60 day period ? Not necessarily in the position you were in before. There were some very good people let go and It would be good to rehire them. Or are the laid off workers untouchable.

I got back about a month into severance. Different LOB. No contacts in the space. Smidge more on the salary. Same level and title. Slightly smaller bonus. As to why, I had a lot of seniority and didn’t hate working here.

I’ve known several people that were able to do this, but some had to lean on previous connections to make it happen.

I know someone at an ED level who was hired back after six months. He was well liked, and rehired by a different LOB that had a location footprint more compatible with where he lived. So it definitely can happen

After I was cut a coworker and manager were discussing the coworker possibly taking a position with another them. Manager freaked a bit on potential loss. Coworker replied 'You could hire Xxxx back'. Manager said nope- was told they were not allowed to hire anyone on notice/60day, that had been let go, or totally new from outside. Was told they could only hire existing FTE (not on notice)

Sure it's not the same for all. But also certain it is the same for other areas.

Yes I was rehired within 60 days. Then a few months later they dissolved the team I was on and put me on a new team with having to learn another job again, lol.

Yes, I interviewed with other banks and the pay was lower for roles requiring more experience. They had 5 days in office and lower PTO..sometimes we don't know how good we have it. I ended up coming back and my displacement ended up being a 2 month paid vacation.

I was re-hired and my new start date was two weeks after my 60 day notice period ended.

I was. About 5 months after my 60 days was up, so it was within the window where my title, PTO, years of service, etc. all came back. I lost two severance checks, so not a big deal. Hired in WIM, formerly CIB. Same level, salary a bit lower. Previous manager hired me back.

You should also consider that a competitor would usually value your past experience more than your last employer would.

I know a few people who have but not sure why you would want to unless it’s your only option.
