Hot Desk Houston Email from RR

Generic email from RR admitting they made a mistake and are reviewing the open seating plan. What doesn’t mean? Are we undoing it? What’s going on?

@bp, very well said. Someone in a position of authority or influence should read that. Your last sentence cuts to the core of the issue.

Well how the tide turns...Houston folks commented on SR babies hot desking complaints and now Houston is crying about the same thing. Time to recognize we all work for the same place and none of us is more special than the other.

The complete lack of thought that this LT puts into these decisions is truly pathetic.

They never learn! I remember when we spent millions removing all the office walls floor by floor to replace offices with cubicles. Without adequate monitors nor walls to hang cross sections I had to move to the cafeteria tables to correlate well logs. Then we spent millions more reconstructing offices again. Now a decade later offices are out again, and huge surprise it is another disaster. The basic problem these plans are developed by managers and bean counters that do nothing but chitchat at meetings and only need brief touchdown spots to review their PowerPoints and pick their noise before the next meeting. They never ask folks that do the real work, which requires detailed focus, stable work space, and long periods of uninterrupted effort.
