Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Are we done with layoffs ?

Are we done finally? Can I wake up happily assuming my job is safe?

It’s been a while we saw a big one and I am getting a sense it’s right around the corner. Anyone have more information?

What date is the end date supposedly? I would assume people would’ve heard if this was the case

@172 I assume it might be independent contractors and not consultants from companies like (tcs, accenture, etc)

@138 Contractors/Consultants in US are about 40% of total workforce, is it possible to end all of them by the end of this year? Most consultants renew annually ...

@mm During the recent Town Hall, they even said that "some" people in Technology and Ops will not be eligible. How exactly does that work in their heads? Am I missing something or does it seem a little unfair?

Not technically a 'layoff' but we have been informed as an IT org that all of our US based contractors on current projects had their contracts dead ended at current term and that there is virtually 0 chance of getting anyone an extension. This is Including some contractors that are mid long term project. If we need to continue to need project level assistance they we will have to go to HIH and have them replaced from there. We knew that this was coming in theory, but it seems they have drawn a pretty abrupt line in the sand. Has been no mention if the projects will have dates modified to retrain (or teach..) the new HIH people

Has anyone heard if VRP will only be offered to Technology, or will they offer the VRP to more orgs?

@bf rumor has it that VRP may go from 55+ to 50+… But just a rumor and if that IS true may have more people say “see ya Cigna”

I think we'll be fine through 1/1 until they see how many take the voluntary retirement package after the new year begins. If they don't hit their targets, they'll start planning the next round of layoffs.

Just a prediction, I don't have any insider info.

They're bragging about AI again in the USET webex channel so they're probably planning more layoffs. But when aren't they? Anytime Im aware of a layoff, even a small one, I contact my representatives and complain about PBMs and Insurance and Cigna offshoring. You should too!

@OP dont think so. 30 people in accounting last week rumored to.be more on the way
Duyum and Ann Dennison sla-ghtering accounting and finance. American company ki-ling American Jobs just to save a few dollars.

Project Horizon is the ongoing initiative to remove American Jobs replace in India at HIH. 1/4 ratio on pay. Directors and leaders should be ashamed of the butchering of this company.

NDAs all over the place but I do not care Cigna is a horrible employer and the consensus outside the company of customers looking in would say they are a sh-t company.

I have been with the company for 14 years. The only thing that has remained a constant in the March layoff cycle.

Personally I expect it to be over at least for the short term as they are going to offer IT the VRP in January. Then based on the participation in VRP it would dictate if any further layoffs are needed. I’m guessing we won’t have more because the VRP will get them to their goal. Everyone I talk to who meets the criteria to get it can’t wait to be offered it and wants to leave.
