URGENT

The exec order is working LIKE A CHARM!

This week, full of calls and RATE OFFERING has sky rocketed 30%!

And recruiters, of course, asking the magic question.... "Are you a US Citizen or Green Card" 💚

Thanks!!!

Companies using H1B need to be regulated heavier and have PROOF with Documentation and statistics that the job cannot be filled by a US citizen. Plus a large fee that covers the cost of the government reviewing the application. REGULATING H!B (like all regulations) will add cost the company using H1B and force them to look much harder for US citizens or hire qualifying US citizens away from other companies.

@cz Engineers at EM don’t do much. Same for every other large operating company in the Houston area.

They mostly just modify documentation and review/forward data. Occasionally they’ll go to a vendor site to observe some process or equipment test. The “high-end” analytical and design work is almost always performed by third-party consultants and/or vendor engineers.

@df Yeah, you can dry up and blow away.

Are Americans lazy? Yes. Complacent? Absolutely. Entitled? I think this one goes without saying. But calling one group “superior” to another borders on racism/nationalism. Take this BS somewhere else.

I’ve also been to most of the countries you listed. Not sure I’d describe any as having some special or strong work ethic.

H1B LCA Approvals for Exxon Mobil Corporation
The below data & graphs are based on USCIS & US Department of Labor public disclosure files for the H1B program. We do our best to load data as they release it, check our data refresh status for more. For the most accurate & recent data, you must check the USCIS & US Dept of Labor websites. We are not liable for any data inaccuracies presented below, use it at your discretion. By using our website you are agreeing to our terms and conditions.
Below is the charts and tables of Labor Condition Application (LCA) approvals and denials along with USCIS approvals and denials. LCA data represents the number of applications filed with Department Of Labor (DOL) request to hire a foreign worker. These applications are either new employment, continuation of the employment or change of employers. One LCA application can be used to fulfil many open positions by an employer. In other words, filing an LCA and getting an approval is a mandatory step for H1B visa. Read more about LCA process in blog article. On the other hand USCIS data indicates, how much success does an employer have in getting the LCAs to hiring those foreign workers. Once DOL approves LCA, the petition is submitted to USCIS for review. USCIS review the H1B applications (new, renewals, and transfer of employer) and can result in approval or denial. USCIS data is only for folks who are already in the USA and requesting for change of status (COS). If you are outside country, then employer will ask the H1B worker to attend visa interview at the nearest consulate. This is also called consular processing. The visa approval numbers from consular processing are provided by Depart of State (DoS) and can be reviewed on VisaGrader.com website.

KL, Argentina, Brazil, India, Budapest, Prague

All superior, intelligent and smarter ( and yes cheaper but happier) because in our countries we don’t drive hige trucks to hide our small d!ck insecurities and consume mac and cheese and coke for breakfast) than any American on Spring campus.

@bd you need to realize the truth...XOM is not in KLTC because the engineers are better, it is there because you cost less...and you get what you pay for

Lol H1B hardly impacts Exxon.
L1 Visa is used by our slimy company and it has even poorer wage than H1B. Bring in more expats to the campus! Its full of old farts and depressed people anyway, at least some vibrancy and fun will ensue

O&G companies don’t use H1Bs. Tech companies are the ones who have abused this system. Service workers (cooks, maids, caddies, etc.) are all H2Bs. Weird that they weren’t included 🤔

I like the idea, but all this will do is incentivize and accelerate outsourcing to low-cost countries. I’m waiting to see some EO/legislation that puts a cap on the number of jobs that can be sent overseas, and applies some form of tax penalty to companies that do it.

XOM uses about 10-20 H1B per year.

Love this. It’ll be fun to watch the whole business plan to replace Americans blown up overnight and get to see management crawfish and explain why they’re changing direction without saying the truth. I’ll drink a beer to that.

@a9 To drive down salaries and provide large corporations with an easily exploitable workforce, because apparently the complete lack of worker protections doesn’t make American workers exploitable enough.

@aa They aren’t stealing anything.

The jobs are being given to them by American executives.

I’m all for employing Americas first and foremost, but let’s agree to correctly name the problem.

@a2 The company isn’t paying the money. The individual visa holders have to.

It’s kinda like how tariffs were talked-up as a means to “balance trade” when they’re really just a sales tax on American households.

@OP Read the (no so) fine print.

It’s the person who is awarded the visa who has to come up with $100k, not the company sponsoring the visa.

This rule punishes individuals and lets the company off the hook. It’s not what you think it is.

Charge the company $100k per H1B and $200k for every job sent overseas and you’ll start to see more U.S. based hiring and fewer layoffs. I’m all for this approach.

Now let’s go after offshoring/outsourcing.
