Service rep in Earth City, worried about losing my job

So we’re considered a mega center under the mobility purple contract and we’re locked in at almost $39 an hour and there’s only about 60 of us right now and we won’t ever have people on our title anymore per our union. We all work 5 days in office. We’ve been doing mass hirings for almost 2 years and these new reps are also service reps but they have a hybrid title at the end of their name and get about $21 an hour plus commission and they’re a mix of English and bilingual. At the end of the day we all take the same calls, have the same center manager, report to the same floor/building but there’s over 100 of the hybrid reps. Can they get rid of us since we’re getting paid more and not having to meet numbers to get commission? It’s been like this for 2 years but there have been rumors that they can remove us and keep the reps that are hybrid. How can they get away with that if it’s true?

This happened to all service reps in D6 CWA. You are now a Premiere Service Consultant. New title since Aug 24. The hiring is the Premiere Service Consultant Hybrid. They will get hired and will not affect your seniority. YOU are pay protected. No commission. Your seniority will never go up. I am in Texas and same thing happened. We were all sent to WFH as of March 1st on our protected pay. CWA D6 SC--WED US ALL! Oh.. lets also mention the other MOA that for those of us that transitioned from the SW D6 core contract to the Purple Mobility, medical benefits when we retire are gone. GONE! CWA D6 keeps sc--wing us. This should have NEVER been allowed to happen. You can thank Derrick Osobase for throwing us under the bus! Thanks CWA!

You should all be contacting the head of CWA for taking your dues without proper representation.

@as

This is not the first job title that CWA has allowed this to happen. This has happen in numerous non-management job titles across the company. This is one of many.

So many of us actually hope to be laid off, get the termination pay per our contract, and just move on.

AT&T is not allowed to pass work from a higher paying tittle to one that pays less. This is where CWA is supposed to come in, but they didn’t, and turned a blind eye . This is happening nationwide. There is an active National Labor Relations Board charge against the CWA National union for failure to represent its service representatives.

Doing similar things in CSO. New hires only in baich pal zone in lower cost areas and lower starting salary. Will eventually fire existing employees ...writing is on wall.

These are non union so they can do it.

Nope. Pooled titles. They would surplus by seniority.

It’s AT&T so they will do whatever they can to save money and will claim “it’s best for business”. At the end of the day they can easily replace you and will more than likely say that you can follow the work (if your contract has that option), switch your title and keep a job at your same location or take a surplus. But if they keep hiring reps who are getting paid almost half of what you’re getting then yeah your days are numbered unfortunately. Have your resume updated and just be prepared because the company doesn’t care. I would honestly take the surplus and not look back. Good luck
