Large management layoffs in IT today

Many levels of IT management (Managers, Sr Managers, director) riffed today. Hard to say what comes next but it don’t look great for TMO employees

@b0 whatever the flattened org structure ends up looking like will be mirrored in India. Sr Director req in Bellevue can be repurposed into whatever they need.

Indian employees are 1/5 the cost of US employees. Sr Director req can be 5 principal architects

Aravind’s org took a big hit. Other groups too to a lesser extent. Sr Mgr, Director, Sr Directors and VPs.

Lot of this headcount is being earmarked for India, goal is to have 2,000 FTE in India by the end of 2026.

@a4 I'm not going to say it's sad, having been a part of the cuts in 2023. It's not sad. It is. There's another 15K getting the axe from Verizon as well. All the bloated hiring done during Covid is now being trimmed.
