Many levels of IT management (Managers, Sr Managers, director) riffed today. Hard to say what comes next but it don’t look great for TMO employees

@b2 they let go a recent hire manager right from the director mouth we will turn this role to a principal engineer
Yep. Flatten the leadership chain. Moving to India. Could see this a mile away.
@b0 whatever the flattened org structure ends up looking like will be mirrored in India. Sr Director req in Bellevue can be repurposed into whatever they need.
Indian employees are 1/5 the cost of US employees. Sr Director req can be 5 principal architects
@a8 you will see soon
@az Even Sr Managers and Directors?
Aravind’s org took a big hit. Other groups too to a lesser extent. Sr Mgr, Director, Sr Directors and VPs.
Lot of this headcount is being earmarked for India, goal is to have 2,000 FTE in India by the end of 2026.
It is true. At least they’re getting rid of so many bloated layers of management.
Been gone a while myself since the last round in that group. This is true. I heard from former coworkers about it.
I call fake news. What team is this? I work in IT and heard squadoosh.
@a4 I'm not going to say it's sad, having been a part of the cuts in 2023. It's not sad. It is. There's another 15K getting the axe from Verizon as well. All the bloated hiring done during Covid is now being trimmed.
T-Mobile always tries to 1-up Verizon, so it makes sense.
Yep my manager and Director combined 40 years+ with TMobile so sad
