Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Taxing outsourced tech jobs

High tech companies including Cisco are outsourcing non-technical and technical jobs to India, Canada and Europe. Why SBG hires program managers in Canada while there are hundreds of talented program managers in US and are unemployed?

Well, what Europeans would say is: it's a very egocentric point. It has been pointed out to the leadership that an international corporation with business around the world needs to divide tech and non-tech roles equally. A US-based non-tech person doesn’t have knowledge of the best practices or the working environment in Europe, so why should the American scope include Europe or Asia? Keep in mind that the majority of roles are not outsourced but assigned to regions for better cultural alignment.

@f5 seriously. How's all that trickle down economics working out for everyone so far?

Blaming foreign workers for job losses is an oversimplification. The real issue is a capitalist system that prioritizes short-term profit and efficiency above all else. Companies use strategies like automation, offshoring, and hiring foreign workers not to harm domestic labor, but as tools to reduce costs and maximize shareholder value, which is their primary directive.

No it is not the same person complaining about KK, the Canadian program manager. There are many employees who are fed up with this kind of conduct by Cisco sending non-technical jobs to Canada and Europe. This is discrimination against US citizens.
Hiring a no talent, a-- kisser like KK is only the result of rotten leadership in SBG.

Canadians are in same timezones, have compatible culture (language, habits) and are CHEAPER

I mean, even if the salary number your Canadian coworkers have is the same as yours, its a 20% discount for Cisco due to currency exchange

Canada is just a temporary resting place for Cisco capital on its way to India

Have you seen recent posts on LinkedIn by Indian employees living in the US and they strongly support taxing outsourcing? What is the point of bringing talented migrants to this country, give them citizenship and then outsource their job to their origin country? I think democrats are most qualified to answer this question.

Greed is everywhere. Guys at the top want fat salary and they don’t care about the common man. Their motto is Close everything in USA and outsource as much as possible.

Common man will fight against Social inequality and rise one day. Things are already changing in Washington.

People in other geolocations are content with lower salary because their country is poor and has low standard of life. If those people were really talented and smart, they could make their own country great again and create higher standard of life in their own country.

Because the "so called" talented managers here in US expect huge paychecks and people in other geolocations are content with modest paychecks.
