I am 50+ and facing job search issues like anyone my age in this market after the recent layoffs. The H1b law passing perhaps will stop ageism as new grads wont come cheap as they used to

Nobody likes an old fa-t. I know. I am one.
Fortunately it seems the younger gens may not be much better.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. DJT Parody
@ap
Well I am young, male, white and until last month, was the supplier/butcher of choice for several of your favorite on-site cafeteria. Out of the blue my contract wasn’t renewed. I found out through the appeals process that I am not a halal certified provider.
Go figure.
@ap the word you're looking for is Nepotism. It happens everywhere.
Trump has destroyed the American job market and economy with his abject stupidity.
Honestly I’m in my mid 30s and it’s a very challenging market overall.
it's a rough job market for everyone. not likely to improve in the short term. oh, and there are some alarming economic indicators, like repo's and loan defaults rising rapidly to pre-2008 levels.
Indian manager,
Reports, anecdotes, and legal cases suggest that some Indian managers in the US disproportionately favor Indian candidates in hiring, leading to discrimination concerns. However, it is a problematic stereotype to assume that all Indian managers engage in this practice.
Chinese managers,
There is no reliable evidence to suggest that Chinese managers in the U.S. universally or popularly hire only Chinese candidates. Doing so would be illegal under U.S. national origin discrimination laws. However, hiring bias can and does occur in specific cases, as it does across many groups and nationalities
Canadian manager,
is not a known or widespread phenomenon. Such a practice would also likely be illegal, as U.S. federal law prohibits discrimination in hiring based on national origin.
No they’re just going to offshore those jobs lol
