What’s with the ethics alert about excessive R&As. Why bother slapping the wrist of teams using budgeted amounts?
If my team is awesome, who cares if I give them all of my $500..
what a waste of time

I don’t use any of it. Either it’s ok to use it or it isn’t. Like everything CVX, now it’s too complicated.
It has nothing to do with the freebie 10 you can give. There was apparently widespread abuse of the high value ones you have to approve (in a flyover location of an acquisition).
$50 meant something 10-15 years ago. We would be encouraged to use all of them before the end of a year. It is sad to hear if it came to R&A. That number should have been multiplied by two long ago.
@ak, No, we used to, but now we just use this site to whine and complain all day like little girls instead of working, and gossip about others that we are jealous of. The adults have all been laid off, lol.
R&A’s up to $50 are acceptable. The ones approved are the ones scrutinized. R&A’s used to be encouraged for Team Awards now not so much. Very sad.
@ak Yes, there is. Please find it at:

Same experience.
This was also a means to “give feedback” in a traceable way to comply with PMP expectations of the time.
I’m hopeful that this “ethics alert” had much more to it than captured by the original post... (I wouldn’t know, I don’t get those anymore.)
That being said, I remember getting chewed out by a boss once for giving a $250 “Way to go” award to a colleague who’d developed a suite of Excel Macros to process text based automation files. VBA that transformed hours of hand work (at that time) to minutes. It was at that time a silent game changer.
Lesson learned from that:
Never discount an individual manager’s insatiable need for power and control…
This wasn’t specific to this company I’m sure… it’s just a thing… it was a disappointment learning that “in first person” of course, but alas I was less experienced at that time… naive even.
I wish you all the best.
Are you looking for a site for laid off former employees, employees in fear of being laid off, employees hoping to be laid off… …?
Please discuss (and we suggest a different translation app…)
@OP
I have at Chevron for 20+ years and I have never been told to not send R&A’s to employees. This is the first I have ever heard of this issue. To the contrary, I have always been told to send R&A’s all year long. I guess it depends on your TL and 2nd level managers.
@ak
WTF?
Is there a layoff's site for the chevron employee for layoff questions and topics?
It because MW and his ELT are a bunch of fu--ing cheap ba----ds. They continue to line their pockets with cash that all of us contribute towards, but God forbid we should get a mo----------g $50 R&A once in a while! They can all go to he-l.
