@1p6 You have too much faith in HR, they are fu-kwits, they haven't a clue

@1ny if it's down to HR they'll just say it's minimum terms. You can't prove them wrong. They'll just say that was supercceded in 2021 when you accepted a work from home. Take it or leave it!

@1n9 I understand it’s whatever it says in your contract. Most people are on different terms depending where you came from (CSC, HP, RMG etc). So check your contract - you can ask HR to provide your latest one they have on record. This is what they’ll use in any VR calculations (hopefully!!).

I don't know mate did you see vern's LinkedIn post where he's dressed up as a temu Steve jobs and talking about all the hiring in the UKI?

If you volunteer to leave, it seems that many people leave pretty quickly after as decision is made. Does anyone know if we still get PILON, which in my case would be 12 weeks as I've been with the company more than 12 years. Or because you volunteered is it like resigning and you just have to agree to go tomorrow. Obviously makes quite a big difference to the pay out due.

UKI hiring for the innovation center but HR pushing managers to put names on for orbit. The Indian HR woman in the UK won't shut up about wanting more names.... I think she enjoys "the power"

@rd What is a ssdc when it's at home?
DXC is a big place not everyone in DXC plays pool in Erskine

@qm rough pools...

8 in one area of the ssdc
2 in another
4 in another
3 in another
7 in another
at LEAST 5 staff made redundant prior to Christmas.

But don't worry, your manager doesn't know, so can't be true ;)

or they just don't know?

For the ones have been there a long time, you'll never get WFR.
The no pay rises and lack of work, make you easy to treat badly and you're donkey cheap too

@qm Back in early 2025 there wasn't a formal WFR programme but persistant emails to the WFR mailbox and constantly annoying my manager they relented and released me.
Was UK based under one of Brocks minions.

Going back to the thread topic I asked my manager today about wfr in the UK and was told there isn't any, so I think the OP was just stirring as I feared

We're also actively discouraged from making "improvements", unless the client has specifically requested them. Even if it would save us time, and make us look better. The clients not asked for that don't do it!

DXC does not have a structured way of managing work, it never has!

There’s no formal intake process, no consistent way of breaking work down into manageable tasks, and no clear method for allocating it based on skills or availability. Tracking what’s been completed — or how much remains — is difficult because everything lives across spreadsheets and email threads.

As a result, there isn’t a steady flow of work that people can simply pick up and progress. Instead, it’s very stop–start: long periods with little to do, followed by urgent rushes where something that needs a couple of days suddenly has to be delivered in hours because it wasn’t properly tracked or prioritised.

Its reactive rather than planned, and that’s not sustainable. It makes it so hard to deliver consistently, which may explain why we’re no longer the first choice when clients need something done.

Our management don't seem to care.

@dz is this the newcastle that's got stains allover the shop, posters up about a left contract and the ceiling falling down? the place is even up for rent, that's not spending money is it.

Most of the events are for the 9001 grads they keep taking on with an expectation of 9000 to leave, purely to keep the awards running.

Can remember a mini townhall about the ssdc, someone asked about wfr and redundancy, got stated that's not the plan for the ssdc...

car salesman comes to the mind.

I'm glad I live far from one of these places. Where you need to justify to 6 levels of management, the exact benefit to be gained. There isn't any! My managers says I have to is the only reason - rejected! Problem solved.

Don't fall in to the same trap as UKI leadership, the vast majority of UKI based staff work at home, only the lucky few get to enjoy all those engaging company culture events they bang on about in Erskine, Newcastle and of course the answer to all of corporate prayers the new CEC

@ak can certainly agree with the Erskine Pool Club. Was up there recently and the place was a ghost town except for the ‘games area’.
