Tough markets leads to a push to start freezing salaries

Rumors are the Ford will freeze salaries and reduce hiring in '26 in a effort to lower cost and be more financially flexible given macroeconomic uncertainty and stiff international competition.

I think DF would be pleased that all of you were no longer part of Model e.

This discussion is ridiculous.

"Recall free vehicle"

An amicable goal which is impossible with the current Ford leadership, including the guy at the top Bill Ford.

Typical. Typical and clueless. SOSDD (Same old...day). F continues to focus on cutting costs instead of building a dependable, minimalistic designed recall free vehicle. I feel sorry for dealerships. I could not imagine what it would be like to say "Yes, our quality stinks, but we do have the lowest headcount in the industry" as the only selling point! FAT FLOATS. I'd start skimming it off at the top of the surface where it resides.

Agency personnel are used to the "freeze" tactic. An agency person is lucky to see a max 10% increase once every 4yrs. Don't go thinking agency make more than Ford.... they truly don't.

@ce While yes, I agree with you that there’s been a developed entitlement. If companies just stopped, I’d guess the urge to job hop would be even higher. 2 years you stay loyal, but hope for that raise, but new guy comes in at a higher market rate. Makes it hard not to quit and get your market rate ‘raise’ at another company earning a higher percentage than if you had gotten that 3-4% for both 2 years.

Annual pay raises are an entitlement I can’t wait for society to get rid of. If all you pissants were paid by incentive, you would work harder and respect the overlords you berate all the time.

@aj My God, did he actually think that was an insight. I could have told him that when they started this sui-idal EV strategy.

Too bad the promises that the government made them aren’t going to come to fruition. Ford was going to happily go along with ramming this cr-p down our throats whether we wanted it or not. Now that the costs aren’t being socialized, they suddenly realize it’s a niche market. Pathetic.

Most FNv4 teams are lucky that they were not selected in the first round. If you were you could probably get another job. Now its a karma to be late , unemployment is only 26 weeks. Lucky ones !

There will be no more P800, like vanished V801 , U759 and other FNV4 ancestors. Most pre-FNV4 folks are already on the NDP list by departments. Prepare your resumes, maybe the markets improves with real unemployment numbers.

This is already happening in Model E. Supervisors are in manager roles without promotions. People are leaving without being backfilled. Teams don't have the people to do the work they've been told to do.

@a7 P800 launch delay number 3 or it will be cancelled all together. Writing is on the wall.

“Ford CEO Jim Farley said that customers are not interested in expensive electric vehicles (EVs), stating specifically, "Customers are not interested in the $75,000 electric vehicle". His comments were made in October 2025 during the Ford Pro Accelerate conference and reflect a significant shift in the company's EV strategy. “

"Big layoff for Model E would be first"

@a3 you should add "I wish" before the sentence.

I wish so too. But given what I know about the company, it won't happen. Let's just accept what this company is.
