@ap This only applies to Germany negotiating no more layoffs for German employees. Also annoying that people with bad performance will be reskilled while that’s not offered to other countries. Layoffs would still apply to everyone else without reskilling opportunities.

If there needs to be layoffs then HQ - Walldorf and Rot needs to be trimmed. Whenever I've worked with P&E people from there, my general impression was they are lazy as fcuk and takes a month to do things which generally should've taken half a day to a day. And I'm not talking about 1-5 years of experience but people with 10+ or even 15+ years of experience at T3 and T4 levels. Incompetent and least bothered to even acknowledge the emails and chats and when the jobs are outsourced to other locations then the same $#|T heads cry out loud...Same impression in 3 different teams.
They only care about benefits, salary bumps, company cars, cheap access to golf courses and politics to keep the cycle going because they are invested in the company from their internship days till retirement.
If there needs to be mass layoffs then it should start from there!
Keep your head firmly in the sand. There will be huge layoffs - just maybe not in Germany. France, Sweden - or any country with worker protections. There will be massive layoffs if the stock continues its nosedive, how else will CK and DA retain their undeserved bonuses? The stock plummet is not a blip or a temporary market correction - and it will only get worse. So the know nothings in charge have to come up with a strategy to turn things around and just repeating AI over and over again won't help. All they know is layoffs, the 2024 layoff is well behind them now, so time for the 2026 layoffs. You can pretend they will not happen - but they of course will, so just start preparing your life boat.
@av there is a large population of SAP employees who have been with the company for a decade or more and they get paid too high for the value they add. These people are so well connected that they will never get fired. They don't work and when threatened to be laid off, they reskill and move to a different board area. Rinse repeat till they retire. Or take voluntary retirement if they get a very good deal. Unfortunately, the board is not targeting these employees. Instead they are targeting employees who were part of new acquisitions or employees who joined less than a decade ago and are not on competitive salaries. So this whole layoff scenario is fu---d up.
If there is no lay off why will anyone re skill themselves . Right now if they are passionate about work they would have re skilled without HR telling to do . Ridiculous !! There will be cuts and it will happen in the first quarter . Always sap uses March 31st a date to send people out with their last yr bonus and severance package . I like the fact that everyone here thinks that sap is a school and it has to teach people .people will learn if they have to . The ones who don’t learn already know how the system works . So unless there is cuts sap cannot do anything.
@ah the Betriebsrat had several discussions with the employer on this. It seems that they do not really want layoffs but instead threatening layoffs was a strategy to drastically reduce the budget for salary appraisals and benefits. We now have one of the lowest salary appraisals in the history of SAP. And most benefits will be cut by almost half. But there will be no layoffs as most employees who are on a bad performance or in areas that need to be shut down will be re-skilled on AI. HRBP is launching a lot of training programs on AI so employees can move to a different role and retain their job. This seems like an acceptable outcome. So while many employees will lose their current role, they will be absorbed in other parts of SAP. Kudos to the Betriebsrat for negotiating this deal. And shame on the executive board for threatening employees and being so disrespectful only to use that as a negotiation tactic with the Betriebsrat. I hope the supervisory board takes this behavior into account and does not give CK and the board millions in bonuses as they are asking.
That’s good news if no layoffs.
Don't spread rumors
No one. It’s fake news. There are no layoffs in 2026.
