Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Good luck next week

I expect it to be worse than what we've already been through. Being under this much stress for so long doesn't help with what's coming. I truly hope that whatever happens, things work out in the end for each and every one of us. And don't forget that being laid off or kept on has nothing to do with your worth, potential, or hard work.

@OP It doesnt help that the company failed to set expectations properly. Most employees from Tmo, Sprint, US Cellular, T-vision, and a slew of preceding acquisitions were under the misguided perception that their niche functionalities were too specialized to be replaced.

@c2 you nailed it, I feel the exact same way. Are we twins? Hehe.

I truly don’t know which outcome Is better because both are sh--e. On one hand you get a small parachute and you’re free from this dumpster fire of a corporation but you have to find a job in a terrible jobs market. on the other hand you get to stay meagerly employed but live with having survivors guilt and the work of 3-4 people. It’s an impossible preference to have.

@aa 6 weeks is quick? They started at the beginning of August and didn't finish until mid September in 2023

@an my worst case scenario is things staying exactly the same with my same peers and my same boss. I either need a check and some papers, or a new boss/peers!!

@ag you must lack imagination, i can imagine a skeleton company with a ceo, pres, treasurer, and an LLM that hires contractors to do the rest. the new plan isn’t guaranteed to be a good idea lol

I never have posted but your words speak volumes. Also us former Sprint have been dealing with layoffs for years. If it’s my time I’m just going to say F it I’m a Walmart greeter and I’m checking them receipts!!!

@an also feel this! i am in a position where i’m ready and have a plan (and yes, in a year i could be still jobless and kicking myself) but i do not want to have to be given more work, given survivors’ guilt, and be forced to work 60 hours a week indefinitely
