Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Just today or just the beginning

Do we have any indication on how the layoffs will be structured? Just today? Weekly? Daily? Who knows?

It would look really bad to shareholders if they did any more this year. Several news outlets reported on this and they had to do a lot of PR around it.

They definetly need to clear more out to fit every one in packed offices like Texas & NC

@a3 I was told the exact opposite from a reliable manager as well.

@ae no way - they want to control who will be leaving the firm. A VBO would've happened before a RIF if history tells us anything. Reorg then RTO. Attrition due to people leaving because of RTO will occur.

I reckon VBO is coming next

its too much to coordinate, so won't be daily/weekly/monthly at this scale.

I asked a “Head of ___” and they said there will not be a Phase 2 of layoffs. Could be lip service, but I’m inclined to believe them.

In the past, these type of events have been over and done in a single day.

I don’t “know”, but understand the delayed reorgs and role changes are next.
