Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

How can I drain the company of as many resources as possible before I leave?

If you are impacted, what are the things you can/should ask for except for the severance? Outplacement support? Therapy? Keeping equipment? What? I'm sure there are things and resources that are available but you have to know what to ask for.

I'm EMEA based, but surely some of these are global as well. Let me know! When/if I'm impacted I want to make sure I drain every single resource along the way.

@ev LOL at the points. We haven't had any points budget for quite some time already. Any award is converted into a shoutout and give yourself a tap on the back. It was sh-t before, it's non-existent now.

Go to the wellness page and max out your step cou t for everyday so you get many points and get gift cards. Have your pod gove each other shout outs on inspire for points and make points into gift cards.

I got rid of some so much cr-p for free! I sent back non dell cr-p a then some! Old phones worthless old computers, monitors yep u want to use use em!

I have co-workers that have been with the company 10+ years and claim that they have never returned their old laptops that are refreshed every 3 years...

Read elsewhere that you need to return your laptop but can keep any and all accessories as they won't ask for it. I'll try that myself soon, hopefully.

@ae My train of thought here is to request everything even if I don't need/want it and then show up to the ones that makes sense. If outplacement support is sh-t, so be it, but I'm assuming they are paying for it regardless whether I go there or not :D

but really, I Just want to know exactly what you can ask for most of all. I'm sure there are plenty of things you can get if you just know that you'll get it if you just ask for it.

Can I for instance by my laptop for a low amount of money if I ask for it? Can I ask them to let me keep everything else (monitors, docks, etc. etc.).

Do they offer therapy? God know after the last few years I could actually use that one.

Are there things where you can actually save a buck or get things for free if you ask for it?

The outplacement is trash. Absolutely worthless. Go ahead and cash out your reward points. When I got laid off I requested the cobra coverage even though i didn’t need.

Post online about dell. Many job outlets and forums. If you can warn a few candidates away from dell that would cost them resources into perpetuity.

I make it a mission statement of mine to warn people away from dell.
