Get ready to overpay for a house in Edmonton and have a tough time unloading your house in Calgary. The number of people moving is enough to temporarily change prices. Good luck losing when you sell and then being underwater when ypu buy!

You are talking a few hundred people when the real estate market in Calgary turns over 20-30 thousand units a year. Won't make a difference. Besides, most will likely take a package rather than uproot their family and move to Edmonton.
Reminds me of when IOL Moved their head office from Toronto to Calgary.
