Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Which week is it going to happen?

Just saying Q4 is too vague. I can’t handle feeling unsafe for 3 months.

No it won't. There is no new idea to sell since there is no common culture.
The Nike brand is too expensive if it is nothing special.
The layoffs will continue until you are like every other simple clothing store.

@e0

The equation has many variables for us all. Spouses job. Kids in school. Not comprehending early enough that layoffs were going to be constant. Not fully understanding how much the deck is stacked against the people that care. Underestimating how many poor outside leaders Nike would hire and retain. Believing (for a time) that an employee engagement survey means we’re going to do something about it. Took me a while to fully grasp how little merit mattered (it doesn’t at all).

Would leave if I could.

If you can leave, get out now. As soon as possible. Before having a decade of the swoosh on your resume becomes an embarrassment. Don’t wait to see if you’re a layoff leftover. Why do you think Nike doesn’t offer an opt-in layoff? Too many would take it.

But this next layoff and restructure. This is the one that will fix it.

@e3 if this was a code review, sure. Otherwise weighing in as a spell checker demonstrates your value ceiling.

So you do a lot of decks then?

@ah what job bro? I wouldn't hire 95% of these people. There never gone pass an interview that has a easy leet code problem.

@cq why haven't you left? 13 years ago, it was a seller's market.

Using the powers of AI, the date is likely to be Mar 27 - March 31.

And yeah, I know

But think about it, AI can certainly see corporate financial patterns, and it's silly to think that nobody planning layoffs is NOT using AI to do so.

The timing of moving the earnings call is kinda sus as well

I don't think anyone on here knows for sure but my guess we either get the work from home notice tonight or during the final week of March/first week of April. Taking bets.

lol. Haven’t felt safe in 13 years. I’ve lost count, maybe 8-9 layoffs in that time. Yes, in tech.

It is not a safe place to work.

April. Get your 60 days before severance starts so they can make it go against this fiscal. Also keeps them from having to file the warn notice before completing action. I’m in finance….its a big discussion on timing of these things.

This is why you have “no expectation” to work but you are still employed 60 days on payroll,

They'll tell us all to stay home when it's time, like always.

Relax and look forward to severance. Your next job will be a great pay bump.

it's been this anxiety every day for the last 2 years, another reason they want to move to itc, they destroyed phk beyond repair, the yes men in itc are always so happy and life is good, they are making tons of rupees hand over fist and loving life.

ya...you're welcome...no big deal, just at our own expense, obviously no one gives a, shall I say it, "Rats" ar-e!

anyway, we're all sick of it, it's quite sickening

that 2nd building in bangaloroo or whatever it's called was a real gut punch

I expect the layoffs will be sooner than later. Our new tech leader is a coward. He barely was able to say there would be cuts in his all hands meeting. He is a terrible speaker and leader.

Is this reorg limited to GT? I’ve been seeing new promotions, new roles, and departure messages here and there. Is there a company-wide change happening in Q4?

I understand how hard that uncertainty feels. When timelines are vague, the mind fills in the worst possibilities. None of us knows which week, and worrying about every possible week won’t make it clearer. Take it one day at a time and focus on what you can prepare for now.
