Sr. Director here.
Had my 1x1 with my SVP yesterday and was told that I likely will have to cut 5 people. I was told that this is company wide and most, if not all, departments and teams will be hit with a minimum of 10% for each team. Apparently it comes down to which is "cheaper" - cut ties with a vendor and get rid of a necessary tool, or cut people. In this case, it's sadly people. She couldn't tell me much but it sounds like it's supposed to be fairly big.
Are these real Senior Directors or people coming on to cause fear?? Have not heard of any new layoffs after August 8

My director has 30 reports? Seems like a lot.
@gr lol no. The cuts are done this year. There will be trickles here and there but nothing "big." Put the popcorn away.

So if my director is already sitting at 20 folks… are we safe or are we getting restructured?

@ac Across all. I have to cut 5 people and my team is 15. Sales, Marketing, and even HR have to do the same across each team as well. It's a percentage of a team and I do not know what that percentage is. 3-5 per team is my honest guess.
