I know results are not confidential to hr but will direct mangers and skip levels know who rated them poorly in their teams?

Any company that wants you to take a survey and says it's optional is an invitation to finding a new job. We're Americans not communist stooges, nor are peasants that gravel. Tell them to go to he-l when you march out.
It’s really not. But it’s also annoying that managers review report weekly and send out 5000 obnoxious emails reminding us to take the survey and updating them on the percentage of the team that has completed it. It does not feel optional and it’s very frustrating. We are being forced to give positive feedback because it’s not anonymous and they’ll hound the sh-t out of you if you don’t take the survey. I honestly think that culture really needs to change. A manager should not be allowed to harass people to take it.
At some point employees need to start sounding the alarm and make this public acknowledge - go to the media and encourage them to do a report on what is really going on and how employees are being forced to give this positive feedback. It’s so fake- it’s infuriating.

They have all of your info, logic credentials, time stamps , location, they know the duration of the survey, they know who completed it and didn't. They then scrub all the personal info out of it before release
Management knows exactly who and what is said on every survey, do not think for a minute you are anonymous.
You are 100% absolutely NOT Anonymous. It's an obvious trap. Avoid the survey if you care about your job, or just give positive surveys only!
When it's time to can people, this is one of the data sets they look at
3's down the middle get tossed out of metrics. don't do those. just pick one side or the other.
The company 100% knows who is taking the survey. All the previous comments are correct.
Proof: if you don't complete the survey, you will get constant reminders to take the surveys. This is so obvious it is NOT anonymous whatsoever
My suggestion is to not type any text at all. And to not make any negative selections, keep everything to yourself and smile. Nothing will ever change. No matter what you think. Only fools would complain on those manager or company surveys. Do yourself a favor and fly under the radar.
I personally avoid talking to majority of coworkers and keep a tight close circle, historically everyone is out for themselves and is quick to throw others under the bus. It's just a job at the end of the day, and they will get rid of you if and when it is convenient for them. It's just business
While your name may not be on it your manager will get to read it. My manager brought up how someone threw him under the bus about training and I know he knew it was me.

No, nothing done on a work computer is anonymous. HR knows who says what in surveys and targets negative associates for layoffs and termination.
Yes and no. As B3 states, if your familiar voice comes through, it’s obvious. Above B3, who knows. But why take the risk? You KNOW it’s logged somewhere and someone can see who said what.
My advice - 3’s down the middle, no comments. It doesn’t matter what you whine about, it’s not going to change a thing, and will likely result in more useless and uncomfortable team meetings later on.
I have sat in meetings where the comments from the team were shared to everyone. We all basically knew who was saying what.
Only comments to make: (1) PAY ME!! (2) No more than 3 days!!

B3 manager here.... there is actually no way for us to know on the report, and we only get the written comments if 7 DRs complete the survey, which not all do.
When they do, it's just an dump load of the comments by topic. So it's not like we even see the responses by any single individual all bundled together into one rant.
That said, if you mention any details about a specific situation, location, or use wording/phrases you are known for, then, it's pretty easy to discern who's who,
I have a colleague who is an a-hole that I wanted to smudge as well provide my own nasty feedback on everything they ask about, so I wrote my responses using his words/phrases and cited his location. So I got to unload my beefs with the bank as well as get back at a useless do-nuthin' Fave.

They are to an extent that your typed responses if you are not careful, could be attributed to your writing style.
