Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

Patiently waiting for next week

Is anyone else just holding their breath until next week’s layoffs? This past month has been one of the toughest I can remember. As a Director, I couldn’t even enjoy my holidays this month.
I keep putting on a brave face for my family and my team, while feeling the stress build up inside. In 15 years with this company, I don’t think I’ve ever felt pressure like this.

@g7 the majority will be directors or above but there are individual roles identified that are non-directors

@fg what are the org health targets? Is it just leaders still? Or could it be anyone?

The cuts coming on 9/3 are in direct relation to the Q2 earnings call. The RIFs on 9/3 are going to be larger than previously expected because SF has asked her directs to pull forward the RIFs related to “2026 Org Health” targets that were supposed to be achieved by June 2026 into Q3.

Same boat here. Was told this week I am not on the list but who really knows at this point? Morale is as low as it get and this dark cloud over everyone's head has everyone working at 50% efficiency at best. There is zero faith left in this leadership.

I was let go in July after only being there for under a year. Very disappointing. Prior to that I was part of a layoff 3 days after closing on a new home in a new state. Our mortgage increased over $3200 and my thought was how the he-l am I going to manage this. My point being don’t stress over this and don’t stop living life. Cut back expenses but if you need a new car get one. Just be conservative.

Jobs are tough out here. It’s a whole new way of applying, interviewing for a job. Shame on FIS for doing this to their dedicated staff.

Wish they would have a signup list to be laid-off. I'm ready to be let go and move onto something else where one would be appreciated.

@ax what are we at now?

I wouldn’t focus solely on September - quarterly RIFs should be expected until FIS is ‘right sized’ at the target global headcount. Think 3x,000 employees.

My anxiety is running high right now. With all the guardrails being put in place for “org health like limits on how many directs you can have, what layer you sit in, or which portfolio or solution you cover it feels like many of us are being reduced to a spreadsheet. Decisions are being made at a distance, without any real understanding of what we do day to day, the long hours we put in, or the impact we deliver. It leaves our livelihoods feeling vulnerable to arbitrary rules rather than the reality of our contributions.

The layoffs won’t stop after September. The plan is to aggressively reduce costs again in 2026.

@OP I feel the same as you over the last couple of months. I’ve not slept. I’ve wanted to cancel my vacation. I’ve got my new car coming next week on the work scheme. It’s horrific.

What’s sad is that my boss told me I’m not on the list, but they are STILL making last minute changes to it. I can’t even trust that I won’t still get a call thrown on my calendar on Wednesday. I think about it daily.

I heard the next layoff on 9/3 for Director and above was only added after the last earnings call in direct response to SF laying into her directs for the results. Anyone else hear this? Also heard she refused any accountability. So it seems like these next layoffs are very emotionally charged. How unprofessional to keep doing this. What's the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Cuts alone aren't fixing the company. The market isn't buying it - AT ALL. They can see that there isn't enough revenue coming in. So why is this still happening? When is the board going to step in? So many peoples livelihoods are being ruined and FIS has some truly talented folks. Sad to see.

I am also tired of hearing you don't have to worry, how do you know I am not on the list? The only people who know are the consultants and upper management.

I heard people talk about this and most did not even hear about a new round of layoffs for management. I feel for everyone who will be laid off without prior notice.
