Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Are things finally falling into places?

If we keep layoffs aside for a minute, do you think that things/people are falling into there supposed places?
That things are just a little bit clearer than before wellness week ?
What is happening with you, if I may ask?

My work/project is part of the Win Now strategy, so we are trying to do something fruitful. Suddenly we are being asked about the delivery timelines by the department who is funding the project so looks like someone is finally waking up.
There is no end goal though, we need to do something to keep the paycheck coming, in the meanwhile ETW contracts are ending, so..

Things are totally haywire to say the least!!!

If you feel this way do yourself a favor, get out. It will not get better.

Get out

By this do you mean promoted because they are popular and have brown stained lips? Or did you mean skills and talent.

Skills: leaders have none any more, it's just popularity and maybe a good enough lie on a resume

Talent: there is some, they're mostly laying low so infighting and the cut throat brutal behaviours don't attract attention.

Summery is smart and talented people are hiding or desperately trying to be delivery machines instead of just do it. GT is a sick and dying culture which is being beaten so much it's beyond dead and has gone to compost. The beating will continue until moral improves, smiles are mandatory, and you better be fing thankful you have a job

Off-topic , the donation from Phil Knight is incredible, the amount is mind blowing, low-key proud that, although not direct, we did help Nike earn that money 🤑

Sometimes all this feels so worthless, so useless, we are not getting any direction, where to go or who is leading, everything is still so antsy

If you mean that my org has no VP, senior directors are clueless and powerless, and we have two floors of people wondering what we’re supposed to do until reorg, then yes everything has fallen into place

the robust channels that were built are more than decimated, so people are starting to form new, unofficial channels to get any work done. Not sustainable, but process control owners are not stepping up or are outright missing. It's not the end of days by any means, but ends up making a lot of the re-org pointless.

It’s been amazing. My team has no real work, most if us have anxiety about what happens next. But the paycheck continues to come.

If this is the way you all are reacting, things are not falling into places 😭

You all pushed out the good leaders in my org and replaced them with psychopaths. If that was the goal then yes “things are falling into place”.

Definitely! Our stock has only gone up, more collabs, creativity is off the roof, we are more productive, and we are making more original shoes. Nike is back on top! :)
