Thread regarding BD (Becton Dickinson & Co.) layoffs

Get rid of the jack wagons across the company that dont do anything but soak up a check!!!

I’m tired of it and I’m not alone. The dysfunction across the company has become pervasive. It’s especially pronounced in TGS and IT, largely due to heavy reliance on outsourcing in critical areas. But the issue isn’t isolated. Any function that has been outsourced is struggling.

As a result, teams are left trying to deliver projects and meet goals without the resources or support needed to do so effectively. What remains is a workforce that is burned out, disengaged, and increasingly unable to keep up. Many of the most experienced and capable people have already moved on, and those who remain often feel stretched thin or are simply holding on until better opportunities arise.

There’s also a clear divide between those who are driving results and those who are not contributing meaningful value. The fact that some of the latter are highly compensated only adds to the growing frustration. The strain and resentment are becoming impossible to ignore.

I've been around a while and remember when TGS or IT or whatever moniker they go by were an asset. That all changed during the outsourcing and "job eliminations" of 2017. So many talented and dedicated people were given the ole elbow out the door. What a shame.

It's funny, we've been force-fed that diversity is a strength and we can't be a great company without diversity. I guess diversity doesn't trickle down to TGS. There is only one ethnicity hired now. I would say that TGS was more diverse in 2017. I guess the all mighty dollar speaks louder.

@fz haha along the lines of went from BD 2025 to BD Excellence even though leadership didn't do jack sh-t during the BD 2025 journey.

Guys, it's TDS - not TGS. TDS is the new name. When you are dysfunctional and can't really perform, just change the name and hope for the best....LOL

@b3 next to be outsourced, Global Procurement, think it’s a mess now, wait till it’s outsourced. The first mistake was making Procurement Managers report into the business, now they will outsource them. Can’t get savings or cooperation out of suppliers when they don’t k ow who to talk to! Prices will go up and service will go down! Unless management is getting a kickback.

You know I tried to come up with something succinct and insightful to say about the current state of affairs at BD - the massive amount of disfunction and dissatisfaction, the pretentiousness that permeates management, the disdain for long term employees who've carried many on their backs to deliver success only to be labeled as " blockers" when truth doesn't line up with some project timeline that was set illogically - but.......
I guess it boils down to "you can't fix stupid" - stupid has been snowballing at BD for decades. It's a mini Idiocracy.

Tgs or TDS isn’t the only function.. the central RA and QA functions are literally a complete
Waste of money the amount of associate director and above that roam around doing absolutely nothing and who do not understand the processes they are the owners of is beyond sickening. Tom
Is clueless absolutely clueless and blind to the reality of everyday bd. The leadership is so out of touch. Central quality adds no value .. the business is where all the work is getting done and where the stress and REAL RESPONSIBILITIES are .. central RA cleaned house and they should not try to restaff they don’t do anything .. again all
The regulatory work is being done in the business central sits on their thrones collecting hefty paychecks and contributing zero. Get rid of the central functions and save urself a huuuge amount of money.. it’s amazing how central is allowed to open req’s non stop job group 5+ and above while the business is always squeezed for resources ..
Makes angry and disgusted ..

Sure there are a lot of super soft jobs at BD. I am concerned with the lack of regulatory compliance to the medical device and Pharmaceutical requirements with people promoted into leadership roles in QA RA. FDA is all over BD, 483, warning letters.
