@st, @me, @a8 and @aa, It appears that there is a glaring lack of accountability for ethics within our firm, starting at the top of the house. We hold 'Thriving Together' as our guiding principle and 'Doing What is Right' as our standard of behavior. However, it seems that these values are not being upheld consistently as evidenced by all the comments and concerns raised publicly on this forum and more broadly in private.
While we encourage reporting ethics claims through the Ethics hotline, it is crucial that these claims are independently investigated, and feedback is provided to the impacted associate and their management in a timely manner. Unfortunately, it appears that this process is not being followed throughout the bank, which is very disappointing.
The absence of consistent ethical accountability is a significant loss for our firm. One can only hope that some remnants of ethical standards still reside with those in charge. If not, we might have to wait for drastic measures such as intervention by the next regime and a complete overhaul once the damage and looting is done.
I urge everyone to reflect on our core values and ensure that we are genuinely committed to upholding them. Let us strive to reimagine and create an environment where ethics are not just a buzzword on an HR wall chart but a fundamental part of our culture.
