Word going around Dallas C-suite is for big layoffs of Leg T/CWA workers and their managers on March 14th. This is expected to come as a big surprise to all those believing they were protected by the "watermark", however the company can and will do what they want, especially now that they have friends in high places. Of course many will welcome being laid off with their generous termination package per contract. Even more will be celebrating joyously as if they won the lottery. For those who know the finances, this will be a win/win/win deal.

Im glad i found this site. This sh-t is hilarious . 😂
So many of us out here really want to be laid off. Meanwhile we take as many days off work as possible and when we do go, we do do the very least amount of work we can get away with without getting fired. We all know that sooner or later we're all going to get laid off because all of our tasks are being automated and or offshored. So we'll just hang out and wait to be paid to leave.
Before it’s over D6 will get nearly the same agreement as the other three core districts, 2 just signed recently. Company just went through a 30 day strike with D3 SE, don’t think John is stupid enough to try and go hard with ULP again but his track record says it’s probable.
Doubtful with the CWA D6 agreement expiring in April. No big surplus announcement for any region will occur until after the company and D6 union announce a new ratified agreement. Declaring a huge surplus in any region right before that contract expires guarantees a long strike IMO. But what do I know. Maybe big John once them out for an extended duration. Who knows.
“There will be no CWA surplus. The current C-Suite would rather wait you out, while you continue the work and hope you die here so there’s no pension payout.”
****False. It’s cheaper to pay an employee to leave than keep them on payroll for another 10-15 years.
Leg T union has been slowly getting phased out for the last 20years. The CWA Leg T leaders will be selfish and self serving if they don’t agree to move any remaining Leg T union employees that want to stay (and not get surplused) to another union.
Telco copper is being phased out and replaced by fiber and servers. CWA missed the boat on thousands of specialist jobs to unionize.
There will be no CWA surplus. The current C-Suite would rather wait you out, while you continue the work and hope you die here so there’s no pension payout.
Yes, because I truly believe some mope on a layoff forum gets first hand information from upper leadership.
I'm ready, been ready, long time overdue if in-fact this is true! I believe this is just some union employee wishing out loud hoping some C-suite execs will see this and make a decision to layoff union personnel! Guess what, it's not gonna happen at least this year!
yes it is a real big problem for telco. Going into high long term dept. can't pay to maintain the towers and the electric bill. Nowdays the number of employees needed to run the place can be very tiny. Hard to have a company stay in busin with huge numbers of employees and high long term debt. People are just doing plans without customer service and online for 10 dollars. None of the 3 top telcos can beat that. Hard for any big telco to stay in busin. It might accellarate to layoffs every month nonstop.
Of course I have no facts on an upcoming layoff- prob greater than 50% probability in any given quarter.
But sure sounds plausible - coming after the presence report data and 2 weeks before end of 1Q to be off payroll
sound like BS to me
Tagging this for any upcoming #FCC investigation. #LEGG #ATT #DEI #STANKEY #DOJ
March 14th layoffs may be highly prejudiced towards older caucasian's due to the last 24 months of aggressive focus on DEI hiring goals. This is the big layoff that needs to be reconciled with previous “Wave” layoff initiatives, including extensions.
Everyone really excited in hopes they get chosen!
Why keep it a secret? This is great news for many of us!
Can’t wait! Yes!!!!! Pick me!!!!!
