IP Address Tracking is OFFICIAL

Per the comms sent to all employees from the CHRO, in-office time is NOW being tracked and measured. So all the rumors can be put to bed because designated hybrid employees are being tracked for RTO indeed.

@a8 also if they’re telling you you have to be eight hours connected to the network for it to count but that at this time they cannot see that tracking Welp if you want to keep doing six hours, don’t be surprised when that retroactive data comes out and you have zero days in office.

@a8 I will have to reread the email again today but from what I read yesterday all hours that count are by your IP address and you do have to be a full eight hours for that day to count on the companies IP address.

Exciting change with RTO! No more working after 5 PM CST—even though most deployments happen after 7 PM. No need to train or support offshore anymore, woohoo. Also means no incident or resilience calls outside office hours. I can finally remove all work apps from my phone. Thank you, HR, for making this possible.

Going forward, if I’m contacted during non-office hours, I’ll make sure to document it and follow the appropriate internal process.

@a8 if they can track your time in office by IP do you really think this won't be used against you? Why kid yourself, they change rules all the time clearly. If your time in office is available, they will use it against you.

@a6 Yes! I read the email AhND the FAQ’s. We are not being tracked by badge swipes now by IP address. However in the FAQ’s it clearly states that amount of TIME you spend in office can be measured but at not at this time. Ge-z! Read the FAQ’s

@a4 It is so being tracked by IP address as an all employee email was distributed today and applies to those who are not classified as remote or based in Europe. If you didn’t receive it, you better get a copy bc IP address location data is the tracking method versus badge swipe. Believe me if you want or not believe me, that’s your choice bc I have no reason to lie.

@a2 so if it’s time in office divided by total work, you’re sc--wed. If you work 24 from office and put in extra at home so you come out at say 50 hours, you’ll be under 50%

@OP Don’t give out misleading information. Everyone - Read the FAQ’s. Time in office is NOT being measured- at least for now! This is the third time this has been posted.

As stated in the email, " Your manager will be asked to ensure you spend on average more than 60% of your working time in the office". Currently in the meeting they just stressed 60% of your days but 60% of 40 hours is 24 hours week. So I can imagine that might be coming in the future.

The FAQ says that currently time isn't a factor with IP tracking.

"Yes, the IP address data also tracks the duration of time worked from that location. Currently, the data is not being incorporated into our dashboard and reports."

So you're wrong. Time will eventually be a factor but not yet.
