They do only if you care exclusively about the short-term bottom line. We’ve been losing good people and destroying well-established and efficient teams. And it doesn’t really matter that it’s happening right before Christmas. That fact just makes the greed, incompetence, carelessness, and disregard even more jarring.

Lori Ames is destroying this place.
The real loss is a company that protects fraudulent people like the Enterprise senior manager in Michigan and the North Central director, while pushing out actual workers. These two stay busy reporting their own employees just to get rid of them, that’s their whole playbook.
And guess what? Their behavior is a big reason this layoff even happened. Toxic, unstable leadership wrecks teams, bleeds talent, and tanks results. But somehow they’re the ones getting protected, promoted, and paid.
This isn’t restructuring, it’s the cost of keeping the wrong people in power.
