Following the Citi model, the goal is replace as many associates with contractors as possible. The purpose is to increase profits in the short term.
MIT research shows 95% of AI pilot projects failed.

@ae lol copilot cannot do 90% of the work we do in my area..We have tried it already! You AI fanboys are just repeating the kool aid talking points spoonfed to you by your east coast consultant.
@ag Can AI replace people? Right now and in practical application - yes, but very few. For anyone that actually knows anything about AI knows it's mostly a tool that can help in day-to-day activities, but it's not a capable solution for making your firm super lean and optimized via less people doing more with less. In reality, most of the time it is just a convenient way to lay people off.
Will these ghouls at the top not understand what it is actually capable of and make half-baked firm decisions to "be more efficient using AI" and suggest elimination of roles? 1000%. Most of ELT doesn't have any original thoughts and they see other huge firms using "AI efficiency" and other buzzwords and doesn't want to be "left (further) behind", so they're going to keep hammering on that drum until something else comes along or the realistic use of AI is finally understood by their monkey brains.
There has not been any AI tech to replace any of our jobs in OPS so far. Our AI tech is basically just tools to help us get to 2025 levels of system speed and job efficiency. They work we do in my area needs human eyes to look through these accounts/queries and call branches directly. We cant even get our basic systems and macro bots to function properly but somehow the leaders think our jobs will be gone overnight? GTFO. This is all about getting that sweet sweet juicy indian labor where 2 of them for every american can be hired and they work 50hrs a week. They dont care if the work is done half assed or wrong. That cost and market loss is baked into PP cake. A sane and rational firm would layoff people once AI is confirmed to be replacing john doe employee and the labor cost cutting into the bonus #s. We are nowhere near this. This is a rush job on an arbitrary deadline to meet some other sinister goal of the next MP waiting to take over.
The newest "recommended" training module for home office is Microsoft Copilot Chat. AI is absolutely taking over many some jobs. Only an unborn child does not understand this.
@a6 AI is not replacing anyone here and won't be for the foreseeable future. That is a myth. It's a talking point contrived to make all this look like inevitable progress that will help the firm be more efficient. This is all about replacing American workers with Indian contractors.
@a5 next year is sourcing and shoring and then year after that is AI. So maybe this would be in alignment with your thought. In a few years no more roles. Perhaps also a smaller building footprint of “headquarters” too, meaning they wouldn’t need so much real estate.
Yes. Offshore or outsource to another company. The goal seems to be to only have strategy people in the home office.
Would not surprise me.
