looks like there were around 230 layoffs this week. not a bloodbath as predicted, but not nothing either.
There were only 2 displaced in Iowa according to the WARN site.
@dy external emails can’t be sent even if you’re still employed. I tried sending an external email last month and it was automatically cancelled.
Many people wacked in Des Moines yesterday. It was bad.
Teammates who were displaced today had their access cut/ could not send external email before manager meeting occurred. So, several folks knew before the meeting invite arrived. 🙄
I got the axe. Non hub location. - cyber security.
fcm qa and debit card escalations let some people go today
Commercial Card was hit pretty hard-over 30 were let go!!
@an Because I've been with WF over 30 years and I've seen countless people displaced. It happens the same way, every time, without missing a beat, at least in Tech.
@ad never encountered a more useless group ever. I stopped giving them so much and they sit there with there thumb up their butt because they can't figure it out so their "independent" testing was usually just copying the original work.

@aj please explain how you know this I know people who didn't get displaced until end of day their time what makes you so sure that we would know by now

@ac actually no if I do get laid off it would be after my manager gets done with his morning meetings since he is the one who would tell my team and where I live it's still early morning so still have a few hours of waiting before we find out for sure

@a9 Ahh, so innocent and uninformed. All displacements have to be complete by 2pm EST on displacement day.
Have to remember different time zones exist and that people may not be told until end of day their time
I’m in Tech, my whole team was let go except me. Time to go to lunch.
@a4 they have announced in several groups that this is the plan. They don't want to budget in their AU for severance. Performance reductions will increase and I suspect be based on some pretty nit-picky cr-p at that.
I can share that the "armagheddon" or "nuclear" layoffs today will impact an extremely small number of employees. Sooo....let's make sure we reconnect and get all worked up for the next Tuesday after payday.
So far no news? Might be a false prediction
will be interesting to see if layoff tuesdays really continue with our ceo and cro focusing on shifting away from severance to performance mgmt (firing)
