C'mon people, share credible info if you have it. Everything I've seen is all over the place. Zero communication from upstairs, which is inconsiderate and sh---y in and of itself. Many of us may not like this job, but we all need that damn paycheck. Have you seen the job market lately?

@dt it’s a result of poorly connected teams, communication, and processes.
@em yes. A friend of mine got layoff notification through email on March 17. Database support team. Other teams will be notified on March 31st.
@cd is this a verified date and if so, what is the reliable source?
It's all very strange - Slack numbers are up this week (only in the 100's, but still up). On my team they just hired someone (brought back from the September layoff). In my head I can't figure it out - why hire someone back if you're going to cut us soon? No rhyme or reason to how this place works.
@at The aim is to reduce workforce by 20%. If you don't believe that, then fine, believe what you want to believe. Those that are in reality know what is happening, and what is happening very soon. Expecting major layoffs from next week
@at It has started in US, people were laid off yesterday. Next one for US will be on March 31st.
@at why is that not the point? Why does it matter if they are not today, if they are next week? They are clearly coming soon. Oracle publicly stated so.
IMO the 2.1 billion “restructuring” plan is a ton of proof. 2.1B divided by 45,000 people laid off….well…to me…that’s gonna be packages and severance and payoffs to leave. I mean. You can slice and dice it anyway you want but it’s in black and white. Stay thirsty my friends.
Well.. I haven't seen anything yet, only rumours. But management will not warn you in the case of a layoff, so lucky you if manager haven't contacted you yet. continue doing your job and get paid off for that, because this year will not be any hike again.
@a3 just like the cloud?
@OP what about the massive restructuring cost in the 10Q? Seems like really good proof to me. As to when, I have no clue.
'share credible info' on an anonymous message board highly frequented by trolls with an axe to grind against Oracle? Good luck with that!
Microsoft considers legal action over $50 billion Amazon-OpenAI cloud deal, FT reports
@a3 keep telling yourself that and don't be surprised where you find yourself in a few years. Act like nothing is happening and see where it takes your career.
No layoffs. AI is way overblown.
You will have information when you will have it. Now, go back to your JIRA tickets.
