I'm in retail, and my boss barely spoke a word to me this week. My guess is he already knows what's coming and knows my name is on the list. Let me tell you, it's not a fun feeling being 99% convinced you're being let go but still having that 1% of hope that you might be wrong.

My boss has barely acknowledged me in the 6 months I’ve been working for him (since the IT massacre of August 2025. )
MTC- we are all on the chopping block. No one is safe. Expect it to happen and plan for it. Consolidate your debt, payoff your debt ASAP, no major purchases (cars, house, etc). And SAVE! Listen to the Dave Ramsey podcast for guidance if needed.
Keep your resume updated, and look and apply for opportunities that are a fit. Applying when you don’t need to shortens your search window if you lose your job. It also keeps your interview skills sharp. If you get an offer you can always say no thanks.
Most importantly, chin up and stay positive. None of this is personal, it’s not about your skills or abilities. Put positive thoughts and energy into the universe.🙂

Your boss probably didn't speak a word to you this week because everyone was using their PTO at the end of the year, and given all the stuff they have to come back to, have probably been super busy.
Now THEIR job might be on the chopping block if they significantly reduce districts again, because they'll consolidate stores (again).
I promise you that RSMs do not know. RMMs/Sr. Ms do not know either
