Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

@ay we typically won’t reduce enough costs but they will come after us later if there aren’t enough bites from our more senior colleagues.

What would the reason be to not offer this under two years? Are most of the newer folks more even likely/automatically on the chopping block for the regular layoff? (Last in, first out?)

2 years continuous service as of September 1st 2026 - temp work does not count - means not eligible for VSP. But even if you aren’t eligible for VSP you can still be affected by the layoffs.

I just received an email stating I was not eligible. Will have been with Centene for one year on September 1st. So didn’t qualify for the two year requirement.

It's physically says so in the email documentation that those of us who received the offer received. If you will be here 2 years after September 1st of this year then you are eligible for the offer. Also please don't be confused. Regardless of whether or not you received the offer does not indicate whether or not you can potentially be laid off later.

Does that mean new employees not considered in the vsp as well as the layoffs?

2 years of continuous with Centene as of Sept 1 2026.

@a1 Who said so? All I've seen is that new hires aren't eligible but it doesn't say what constitutes a new hire.

It will come through the day it said. A few of my coworkers got theirs like 3 hours after me.
