Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

Anyone get a mysterious meeting for next week yet?

Wondering when I should start looking out. Waiting for the layoff meeting is always a good time!

@ae It's really impressive that FIS isn't just telling employees to call a number that plays them a pre-recorded message.

Managers at the solution level are typically involved or aware of the RIF plans, below that only as needed.

I know for a fact that at least some rounds, direct managers have been in involved. It's possible different rounds work differently and some will come from above. Trying to get how this will work is like engaging in astrology now.

The meetings are always scheduled day of. So it's doubtful any of us have any answers unless someone here is a higher up. But there's constantly that one guy trolling so you never know.

Managers have been told from much higher up that there own leadership and HR today, they have not been made aware or had prior knowledge as to who is being let go. They have been told to book meetings on Monday for Tuesday (for the most part) under "none alarming names" I.E. "Quick catch up" or "a 10 minute chat" which they have basically been directed to ready a really bad script and not answer any question only redirect to HR who are then taking over.. total cr-p shoot

@be Your name is Manager@FIS. Presume you've been asked to make this difficult decision yourself as a manager and pass on names for people to be cut off? Is that why you're sure about managers knowing?

@aq your immediate manager will come to know about the list late on the evening or early morning and will set up a quick connect with the affected person. But the round which is happening next week is approved by your immediate manager and I can tell you that's true

@aq it's a reasonable question, but it seems as if a manager would not answer it because once the word gets out, it's out. The drumbeats are loud and make the rounds quickly. Here lots of information has been shared early. It's one of the most valuable things about this place.

Do direct line managers actually get any kind of heads up? I asked my manager yesterday and he said no such information has come to him in his cluster. This is Capital Markets - Project Management

@ae managers are given a generic script they’re told not to deviate from (helps avoid liability)

You’re then told you need to wait to receive your severance agreement from an HR inbox staffed overseas. My paperwork had a ton of errors I had to go back and forth on.

@ae Direct manager nor HR were on at least 2 of the calls from March that I'm aware of.

@ac was aware that TPO (The People Office or HR) no longer attended these meetings. What do you mean that no questions are allowed? Is this the "scripting" that has been mentioned previously?

This is right out of the "Up in Air" film 2009 playbook.

@a5 apparently HR isn’t on the meetings anymore and they don’t let you ask questions

It will be same and next day notifications. They will spam emails to identified groups being RIFd or rebadged. Nobody else will know other than the executives and lower management. Do not believe the whole I did not know response. So sad.

@a4 if that's a redundancy meeting someone needs to slap your manager, it's a disgusting title for such a meeting.

@a4 is it with just your manager? Is HR on it?
