Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

What happened with ENGINE

I’ve literally heard nothing about engine in my functions for months. Anyone have insight into it? Is it working? Or is it like agile, and we’ll just all forget it, and it’s associated magical thinking, ever happened?

If it's not on a QRG, it doesn't happen. Chevron will soon just be a QR code.

Engine is a total disorganized ineffective mess. Some of the most incompetent people in the company are rolling it out and it’s been nothing short of a complete failure so far. A one hour task now takes weeks as it has to be routed through multiple chains finally making its way to engine where engine can’t even do it because they aren’t trained yet. Doomed to fail

I heard a rumor that LC is not happy with the lack of productivity coming out of the Engine. I don’t think the majority of the IT leadership team can integrate the engine staff into the global support organization. If they cannot get the global IT staff marching to the same drummer, the overall cost will be better but the productivity will never be maximized.

@OP engine is trash. They want to do their own thing, there’s no communication, they have their own “deputy” leaders it’s all garbage. And oh by the way we still have all the EY buddies in addition to Engine

They are active and in the background particularly in finance and projects.

CVX management “leadership” has zero accountability and remote technical support is difficult and CVX was a late adopter. The best talent (yes India does have very sharp and talented people) is at Shell and other large caps that put better integration systems so their remote technical expertise would be successful.
CVX teams do not have same collaboration levels that a Shell, BP, or even XOM does. This is a cultural challenge highlighted by management consultants to the company’s brass.
Once oil is back at $56.66 a barrel CVX is due for another come to Jesus…at that time ENGINE will be prominent again.
And, for a back office observation…the HR and top Finance hags dont support ENGINE as they receive complaints from their pretty and problematic millennial staff.
So simple…ENGINE was poorly integrated into the CVX system
