@y3 severance package you can be rehired. You are usually only offered it if your position was dissolved and you are over 40. VRP you cannot return and are officially retired

What’s the age cutoff for VRP? When do you need to be 55 to qualify?

I took a VRP two years ago. Best decision ever made. My only warning is this, do not make the decision within the first 48 hours of being offered it, take time think of all the factors both short term long-term.

Anyone know the difference between VRP and a severance package in terms of long term employees. 20, 25 years of tenure plus.

All, please keep it civil.

For those that didn’t qualify for this package, keep in mind that your comments could ring in your ears in the future.

For those that are offered the VRP, please take the time to process, I opted in knowing that gives me more time to decide.

I saw years of retirement waves knowing I am deck.

Save your money, live your well and don’t be a sheep.

@sq you don’t know my personal issues . You think I’m doing this because I want to? No wonder this company is such a nightmare - it employs nasty people like you. You should be written up for a comment like that to an elderly disabled colleague whose life was destroyed by cancer. You’re a sad person.

If you’re 66 working here you got bigger issues. This place is a helhole but they pay us well enough that no one should be here past 62. F U

@rf I’m nearly 66 and can’t really afford to retire but this horrid company has negated any chance that I can prolong retirement without ruining my already failing health. 50 years in the labor force and this is the worse experience I’ve had. And it’s not even close.

@af Drivers and merchandisers are doing all of the heavy lifting (literally) …. No chance they will be lucky enough to see a VRP window. Besides - how many drivers / merchandisers are > 55yrs ? Not many.
