Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

What is everyone hearing about WPE changes

I’ve heard the 4/1 change is on hold, but they are monitoring/reporting and will come out with changes to address ‘bad’ behavior like coffee badging. What is everyone else hearing? I find it so strange we were communicated a change and then nothing else.

I work at another company now and the 4/1 is monitored by badge swipe and network login. They track hours but currently you get credit after 1 hour. Days in office is deducted based on holidays and other submitted time off. Mgrs get a report.

@150 my understanding that part of it has to do with people struggling to find seating on Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday, and then the office is a ghost town on Monday and Friday.

My S.O. works for a company that just got permanent WFH due to cost cutting. Why is BofA so adamant about everyone being in the office so much? Who cares! If you're there half a day and finish the rest at home...Who cares! What is this obsession with everyone being in office? Does it really matter if they go Tuesday- Thursday? Will the world end if people WFH Mondays and Fridays? I kust dont understand! Make it make sense.

@ya Bank can’t afford to replace due to market-rate comp levels increasing over the years while BAC comp levels have remained flat. Cheaper to keep, than to reset.

Yes. They should all be terminated and hire new responsible employees who will come in the office. Problem solved.

Will there be any changes to a policy that allows a large number of mediocre employees with phony, fake , corny and pathetic excuses to continue to work at home and not return to the office?

Latest info I have is that the announcement is ‘on hold’ until after the employee survey. That’s the BofA way, sadly.

@OP It is not 4/1 unless you are a manager with an office. Some managers communicated the change to their staff before they were supposed to. It will still be a hybrid 3/2 but you cannot work from home two days in a row and a Friday followed by a Monday at home is not acceptable. Meaning that if you work from home on a Friday, you have to be in the office on Monday.

@dj why do you think it’s dependent on that? Will that control where you log in from?

I was told Workplace Excellence (WPE) is on hold pending everyone completing ID verification. Emails are being sent in waves with the first wave to be completed by 4/3. The email says if you don't complete ID verification, you lose VPN access.

There are various rumors about why the WPE announcement is on hold; one is due to the current geopolitical situation and gas prices. Some countries in Asia are asking people to work four days in the office, and the WPE announcement will not be taken well.
