Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

I'm so tired of all this

Peak combo of constant crises and steady decline, with the daily expectation of joblessness.

@k4 yes. Offshoring. It’s not racists. It’s unAmericsn, hypocritical and greedy but not racist. Especially coming from MD who posts things on LindenIN about “Go America” and how he’s donating to American kids and miraculously gets a seat at the AI table. Buying your way into things doesn’t mean you earned it.

Anyway. Not racist.

@j9 I do sincerely apologize if you interpreted my remarks as racist. That was not my intention, I was merely trying to point out the pattern dell has followed over the past 20 years.

@j9 how is the truth racism??? facts are facts, it's already happening. Just because you choose not to see it doesn't mean it's not happening. Wake the f up

Remember - several months ago MD urged his managers to create crisis to keep employees from becoming complacent. His next book is coming out soon.

“Play nice, but set their hair on fire.”.

You can treat your role as a platform to earn, build relationships, and create options rather than tying your identity to a company. It may feel less meaningful on the surface, but it’s also more honest. That loss of connection and loyalty can make work feel cold or even like a prison, but it’s really a change in the psychological contract, not a loss of opportunity. It’s just business.

I am proactively managing my career transition, as I believe the company’s culture and direction have fundamentally shifted; their core values do not represent ethically my needs.

@OP yep. So make money, don’t ki-l yourself, do your work and go home. Keep looking for jobs and then jump ship. Dell is a terrible company and its true colors are showing. In ISG we have total incompetence at the top. I have no idea how those people got there but groups like ISG will continue to suffer. The stock is a short term manipulation. Everything at Dell is a manipulation, a story, a farce.

you may think what you want but DELL hasn't been more sucessful than it is right now - see stock prices, business size etc

I hear you - human factor is not there, your believe in company and 'we are family' is not there however that is just a sign of time

No company now tries to say 'we are here for you'. Lies don't hold anymore - it's simple work-money relation ship - transactional and not socio-economical engagement

New Social Contract is "nobody cares" , old world of being good and honest seem to die and ones that got us here are the ones screement 'no Vietnam war' and 'Peace & Love' is just hard to comprehend
